My pup recently had Coccidia. She was lethargic, not eating or drinking water...Immediately took her to the vet, got some pills, back to her normal self.

If you have a dog that eats what ever is on the ground you may run in to this if the dog has a weak stomach for some reason. It mainly affects pups who do not have the benign bacterial flora in there intestine.

Get some antidiaretics and oral antibiotics and your dog will be as good as new.

    Good luck

  4. Thanks for that info. My question is this do you disinfect your whole yard after the infection:dogkiss:

pretty common puppy problem, and it will transfer to other dogs on the yard if you dont keep them seperate.

You need Albon to treat. You can buy a Gallon of it (generic) at Jefferslivestock.com for around $30. It is under the livestock section. Di-Methox Drinking Water Solution. It is the exact same thing that Albon is.

When we routinely deworm our litters I ALWAYS do for coccidia as well. I live in a state forest and have a high field mice/ and god knows what else of wildlife.
