The Brujo blood from Cardenas throws some man biters the kind that will kill you if they get the chance to only proffesional dog men can handle those kind of dogs. Also I have never been bit by handling a dog but I have been bit many times when working one for the show all accidental of course sometimes my fault and sometimes not so sure lol but I have some battle scars of my own lol.

You might want to look into an actual guardian breed. A lot of APBT's would lick an intruder to death.

They were not bred to be protection dogs. They should not be human aggressive and want to kill someone. Excite bitting is or nipping is not a sign of human aggression. Its hey! Let me go you sob so I can do my job! If you want a people mauler buy a Rott or some type of protection dog. Our Pits are headed for the pits if people keep making them do jobs that cause attacks on people. Good'ol gamedogs made for one thing and not human aggressive! Point...

  4. Everybody here has good info on this topic gene have to do alot with our dogs yes excited & h.a. Dog can spring up in any good breeding program but i feel that depending on how the dog was brought up as a pup will determine his temperment yah also agree the the cross between game/show can cause this problem for instance if you look at some zebo peds there are
game & show cross that came from game but the show is still there we talk about the importance of the 1st- 4th gen as the infulence of what our dogs did but thats not always the case i feel that the sire to such dog would have to be h.a. And the dam also h.a. For it to be an accual h.a. Line period im just say change of owners can cause it anxiety can do it
unsocialization can cause it no exersise to it self alot can do it hey if you have a litter of puppys nursing with the mom touch another dog and go touch one of the puppys she'll 1. Bite you on the hand because she smell the other dog on you or 2. Stop nursing or reject the pup that was touched with the hand that the other dog was touched with the moral is she did it for a exact reason not cause she horrible or a killer just things come up that they dont kno how to go about it by so they do what they kno how to do best bite or intimidate but smart dog will bite out of inteligance because it was triggerd by **someone **life style** or other animals** remember when he was a pup were did it all change ** **

  5. Once again breed smart animals that were loved trained and excelled in there life's produced the same or better im just gonna say that all my dogs a smart enuff to recoginize there owners and the one they love if you krept in to a man's house with wife and kids asleep and one of minez see you coming thru the wind or diffrent smell you sent the chillz up my dogs spine but you would still get to see one eye'd willy this is an alll aroundd breed the a.p.b.t excells in everything but you can breed for a photogenic memory so that mean's he will remember the good& the bad if there no good in your animal he's lost some very true trait's that the old man were trying to keep it in them love for the master and the masters family
just look at his ansector the irish stafford terrier once called the nanny dog i bet if an aggresive dog would try and do harm to that child the staff would die protecting the child
may not be what our dog are to day but a good example of what were doing these days and you might say hey my game bred dog could do that but was he doing it in smarts to protect the masters child or out of gameness toward the other dog which sound better i pitty the fool great topic

I realize this is an old thread, but it never answered the question. I'm gonna rephrase the OP's question cause I still want to know.

Of the most prolific stud dogs of APBT history, which were known man-biters?

It is a sad thing that people get bit/killed by dogs, but in fact, there are more fatal bites from other breeds than our breed. Of the 90% of the bites on record being fatal, likely 80% of those cases, are labled as pit bulls because of the ignorance of the media, or the lack of knowledge from the owner/rescue that "saved" the dog. Seeing how these dogs started as a cross, I can see the importance of keeping pedigree on the dogs to track possible genetic flaws, or dogs that act as they should not, ie.snippy,shy,scared.... The Human agression comes from somewhere, but I am not sure one can conclude it is from one bloodline, strain, or family more than another - it is more likely the cause of poor breeding practices, or lack of proper socialization - and I do not mean with other dogs, but rather people in this case.
I am one to also believe that prey instinct has a bit to do with it. As dogs read fear and act upon it aswell. There is risk of bite/fatal injury with any animal, domestic or wild. These things should be concidered before one decides he heeds a lion, tiger or bear, as well an cat or dog.

just a couple thoughts - as I am sure there have been man biters since the start....to cull theese traits is a key project, but the fact still remains - a dog bites because he wants to - (whoever says that or has it as a signature ) thanks - that is correct.

That article is interesting - it says the dog that killed the kid was a Boston Terrier. It also seemed to be on the dog's side to an extent, as it talks about the kid annoying the dog.
