well... i want to buy a new puppy that is purebred and has lots of gameness, although i dont know alot about the different bloodlines and what they produce, i would also like to get suggestions from you experts so that i dont get taken advantage of and pay too much or not get papers (like my dog now) what lines do you all prefer? and maybe i can make a decision based on a collective effort from yall... oh and whats a reasonable price?

Read, Read, and Read....search function is your friend and everyone has different opinions.

  3. I am certainly no veteran to instill years and years of practical on-the-job wisdom on you, but I will give my two cents nonetheless, which will hopefully come across as a common sense perspective...

    1. There is no such thing as a puppy that has "lots of gameness", it does not exist. If that's what you're looking for, you're looking for the wrong thing.

    2. The preferred bloodlines of me, or any other member of this board, should not necessarily influence your decision. There is no perfect bloodline, there is no perfect dog (some will dispute that with historically great ones!) and the best way to figure out what you like is probably through trial and error, much like most things in life.

    3. A reasonable price is relative to the funds available to the buyer. One man's reasonable price may be $5000 but that same price might put another man in the poor house for 6 months.

...Take it for what it's worth, that's what I think on this.

get a dog from the pound or a rescue? if you ain't doing anything more then feeding a pet papers don't matter or make it any less of a pet...............PS if you go around asking for a game pup you will get taken to the cleaners.

well i appreciate that lol i dont want to get taken to the cleaners or participate in illegal dog practices. my dog is a beauty and i love her alot, but i want another pup... she gets lonely and its hard trying to socialize my dog with people who are so stereotypical about pit bulls and i hate it for her.

these dogs don't need frinds. work your dog walk, springpole, flirtpole, swim, mill do those things & your dog won't be "lonely". but if your dead set on getting a game pup with papers at a "reasonable" price cregslist will be more then happy to accommodate you.

Why do want to get a game bred dog to be a "friend" for the dog you have now?? You do realize what these dogs are right?

Man you need to do some reading, dont take offence to what might seem some harsh comments, they (usually) arent meant in that spirit, just to make you think. This site should have all the info you need.

    Just my 2 cents:

    1. Your dog doesnt need a friend as long as it gets a proper chain spot or whatever set up you use, and plenty of exercise the dog should be fine. A new game bred dog probly aint gona want to be friends, ya get me?

2 If you really want a game bred, do yourself, your new dog and everybody else a favour, do your homework, from yard set ups to exercise and everything inbetween before you buy, dont rush it, do your homework and dont jump at the first thing you see

    Good Luck

Nobody tests dogs anymore so there's no way to know it's a game dog.

i dont think this person gets that chances are a game dog is not gonna be a good fit as companion to your house dog as it matures.

Envy22.....these dogs need no canine friends. If your dog is lonely then pay more attention to it. If you can not grasp the concept of proper animal husbandry with these dogs do not get another one. The puppy you are looking for is not real. I suggest a pet rock, box turtle, or possibly gold fish. You are not ready for the commitment of a game bred dog, especially if you are looking for a dog to have tea parties with your other dog, with that being said I suggest you ask many questions (sensible ones), and do much reading. People that want to socialize their APBT with other dogs are in fact stupid, and have no understanding of this breed, therefore do NOT need one.
