Whelping Pen Complete

I have been working on my whelping pen with my father on and off for about a week and now its finally done. Just thought I would share I am excited about it.

 

very nice wrk... looks like some hard wrk and sounds like some great bonding time...

 

Thanks, he helps me out alot with the dogs.

 

that is nice and looks heavy duty.one suggestion if i might add put lawnmower wheels on the legs then you can just roll it some and clean the poo instead of bending over and trying to scrape it out from up under it.

and im sorry if i dont understand all right..

bud if the house is made for a female to give birth and rase her pups in it.. than my first tought is , the urine of the pups get in the wood..so in a vew weeks the pups running around and your dogs house is gonna smell verry bad

when i use wood than i make sure there is plastick or something to keep it hygenic.

looks great! now THAT is how its done...not a vari-kennel. you should post that over on feds, maybe someone will get the hint. (but i doubt it)

 

That's a very nice setup there. The only suggestions I could make are regarding blackbisquit's comment about hygiene, oil the wood very well and urine and feces won't be a problem. Other than that maybe make a large door at the back of the actual dog house that you can open from the outside to check on the pups so you won't have to be crawling in there all the time.

man that thing is nice, its big enough to put a wall in the middle and have two pens, i agree if u make the side of the dog house a door it makes it way easier to check on pups, worm ect. i also use the side door and a slide over the front door so i can feed the pups separete from mom when they are old enough to eat alittle.

 

Looks great you guys did a good job and took your time to do it right and the door on the back is a great suggestion from Gringo as well

Thanks for everyones comments and will take everyones advise in consideration. It takes someone looking from the outside to see what you missed sometimes.

fareplay thats a very wise comment to make after a few members pointed out one or two ways of improving you pen.......may all your pups come winners.
