Erie.....you're right about the being "messed up" part, I would never expect to leave a bad situation unscathed. Just that I'd be the only one leaving...that's all.

The most powerful weapon ever devised is the human brain.....don't leave home without it....lol.

Just to keep perspective here.....I was speaking of breeds/curs OTHER THAN game dogs. I wouldn't want to bet on me either if it came down to me and a big game bred dog going at it. All these other dogs that have no game though are bluffing and reading you the whole time their standing there.

Another case in point....I was invited to go night-fishing with an ex-brother in law a long time ago. Little did I know he took me to a place that he'd been sneaking into--no permission to be there. Well, about an hour and a half after we got there, the owner of a kennel down the hill from us let one of his great danes out. I heard that dog running up the dam bank and stood up to meet him. He wasn't coming up there to lick us to death and I knew it. As soon as his head cleared the bank, I lunged at him. He cut a circle around me and ran my dumb ass brother in law into the pond up to his chest and "treed" him there. After the dog seemed to feel that he made his point with him, he looked back at me, turned around and went back home.

Most NON-GAME dogs are all about the bluff. And when confronted with one that has an attitude, I don't turn and neither should anyone else.

Some non game dogs are about the kill though too.
I do know a fella that trained K9s for many years. He trained and sold an import GSD.
Dog was used as night security after a rash of break ins. Guarded a clinic of some sort.
A burgular tried to break in, and the dog killed him. As in dead.

Owner arrived in the morning, to this gruesome 'scene'
I believe that he told police the dog ran away but he made arrangements to give him another home, as it wasnt his fault, he did what he was trained and bred to do.

As an aside,Ive seen upclose 1 really good Pit in protection and 1 good cross breed-Donovan Pinscher.
It took alot to get the Pit(s) to bite believe or not. Protection not sport trained per se.

And some minor issues besides, but the one Pit I saw was hard as nails, serious as a heart attack on any bites, like hidden sleeves, and was very large for PB standards at over 70#s.

Can't and WON'T argue with that. If it's just the wild-running cur though.....that's more the type of dog I'm referring to. Any professionally trained guard/attack type dog is gonna be fierce if he's a solid dog.

your question sounds like a good one i reckon if your dog is a pure breed apbt then should have a problem everything has a purpose your dog is a companion and a protector if some one came to harm you or your family you would do what you have to. cause if you dont you dont deserve to be feed or even be alive like i said you love your dog he loves you and if those dogs came let your dog out and let him do what pits do best and i know pple are gonna get pissed but its true thats what pits do best fight BUT ONLY IN SELF DEFENCE AND IM GOING TO COURT CAUSE I ASSAULTED ALMOST KILLED A DOG FIGHTER so i hate dog fighting but when it comes to defending your self and dog go hard
    and yes glocks rule

Did you READ this thread? In it's entirety? Or are you just responding to the very latest posts here?

Either way, the Glock (or similar) is the only real answer here unless the HUMAN involved feels he's capable of handling the situation.

And might I ask why your ego forced you to say this--->"BUT ONLY IN SELF DEFENCE AND IM GOING TO COURT CAUSE I ASSAULTED ALMOST KILLED A DOG FIGHTER"......?

I think if you got a dog...any dog for protection your pretty
much walking around with A loaded gun that could go of in
any second. With all the training that it has gone through
and all the time spent on the attack command its just A matter
of time before you have an accident. JMO

There is some truth to that. However, owning a protection dog that has been trained properly, is a lifestyle. You must change your lifestyle in several ways to own such a dog and such a responsibility.

I have one and I take all scenarios into consideration. Kennel him with friendly company is over, introduce new people slowly and properly, ect.

I am prepared to live with that kind of dog and I am happy with it. He has saved me twice, once from an actual carjacking in progress and once from a potential mugging on the street.

I appreciate you chiming in with your experienced opinion. I don't know much about protection dogs or their training, so I certainly can't vouch for those folks or what they do.

I agree, if hes a true bulldog he will fight with those dogs, but not cause its protecting you, cause it just wants to kill the dog period. People love to say that they make good protectors lol. A true bulldog isnt HA, but highly DA. In no way are you right by getting a bulldog so it can fight 3 mutts. Dude, have you ever had to brake up a pitbull fighting.... My guess is no. Get some bear mase from B.C that shit will stop 50 mutts. Comon though, dont get into allowing your pit to fight those dogs, I think if you do, you will live to regret it.

you really dont know much. A dog being able to get along with other dogs or not has nothing to do with being a bulldog and of course these dogs can excell at protection, they can do most any task asked of them. I think its a step backwards and a shame using them for any bite work but your other takes are way off

  19. Take him and that dog behind the barn now please.......put them out of their suffering! LMAO, this has to be joke, I pray it is.

I say get a pack of ham and tie it to your waist. Use it to aid you in training, you know incentive to run faster. Hell get a damned umbrella, short stick or make you some pepper spray, Fog horn, a short stick. I really like the bear spray idea, just pay attention toe wind direction.
