There's nothing wrong with carrying a gun.They're made to protect people.Rather than be dog bit I'm shooting the dog.

I sure think someone should have a right to protect themselves,from people or biting dogs..Alot of people around here let their dogs run loose and I don't have to many problems.A few times a neighbor's dog found the wrong chainspot to go trotting through and never made it to the other side,lol but mostly they're a nuisance for the livestock and chickens.And if I see what I consider a nusiance animal it gets shot.I ain't going to lie,I've shot several first and last,but nothing that didn't deserve it.The good thing is,me and the neighbors get along great,it's just kind of understood in the neighborhood that livestock chasing dogs get shot,same with mean dogs that want to bite people.I don't think anyone should have to put up with a dog trying to bite them.

I Wish I had neighbors that were nice. I guess I can't blame them though. I have a neighbor that has shot a couple of the mutts he has had. 12 Gauge O&U are great for animals on the move...lol
The guy who lives down the road used to have a white dog, looked like a wolf. Young little shit that used to follow him down the road while he was moving hay to other parts of his land. Just happens he was crossing my front yard and he would always run up to my old red male who was just
2 1/2 years old at the time. I would always tell Troy if your dog keeps it up, he's going to get killed and he didn't care. The one day his dog came right up to my rednose dog and started to fight him on the chain. I watched as his white dog got killed and I took the dog to Troy after he was dead. If I were going to carry a gun it would be a Kel-Tech 380 ACP. Nice little pocket gun and would do real good on those 20 lb. dogs. I don't have one but my older brother does and when I first saw the 380, it looked like a ciggarett pack in his pocket. Didn't even know it was there until he told me.

 

Texas is something else! It's still legal to hang someone if they get caught cattle rustling (same as Arkansas). I know they say dead men tell no tales. If they are on your property and someone is on there, you have the right to kill them. It's just how it is. Property & cattle are life down in my neck of the woods and that's one thing you don't fuck with. Mans property and livestock are his life...what do you think about that GH32? Same in Missori?

Yeah,our neighbors are pretty good for the most part.I've coonhunted with several of them since I was just a kid.I've got a nice little .380 I carry sometimes.It's a Sig Sauer P230.Nice little pocket gun.

That's the way I feel about it.

Yes, I would love for my dogs to jump on anything or anyone who tried to harm me or my family but that is not what I purchased/bred them for, This is not a protection breed! my suggestion would be to get a freaking tread-mill if you're so scared of strays that you would get a dog that you have no-idea what its capable of to protect you and then you post this stupid shit here you have more problems than any-one here can help you with or any dog you get for that matter.

 

i agree i wouldnt set the dog up to get in trouble. even though im sure it would be nice to see your dog kill the hell out of them. The gun method would be my first bet. Maybe try talking to their owners if they have any.

 

I think I will start hunting with German Shepherds......lol.

 

Hey man, running with your dog is awesome, I actually try to get in 6 miles a week with mg dog. But I don't run with him for protection. I run with him so he can get his exercise plus it's a good time to bond with you dog and show him new thing. On every run we go on there is always something new for him to see or sniff around on. But if it ever came to 3 other dogs and my dog, I'm going to be doing the protecting. It's easy to say yea my dog could take em, but I'm not going to risk his health and safety over something I could handle myself. I have got a nice little tactical folding pocket knife And I'm not afraid to use it. Get a tight grip and slash at the neck or stab at their ribs, you should probley only haft to do this to one dog, after the others hears their buddies screams and yelps and see him bleeding out on the street, they will get the hint.

 

you go running with your bulldog pup what if you got a cold dog? what then? hmmm...dead dog? Fuckin shoot the strays or call AC or something dont put your dog in that kind of situation. Also how are you gonna get your dog off them strays if you need too? run with a break stick? if you can run with a break stick then you can run with a gun. just a thought :rolleyes:
