For me owning these dogs have been a passion/ obsession for me since I was very young. Also, watching them work is something almost spiritual for me as you can see them give their all in any task asked of them, they pour their very being into their work and that is admirable, even if you own fishes lol. I'm a pretty physical guy doing boxing and soccer and I know what exhaustion can do to your performance and to see these dogs carry on only on will to dominate even while taking a lickin' : Amazing!!!
Also their history has been a pleasure researching and obtaining for me. An I sometimes see qualities in them that more humans need to adopt. So for me its game-bred till I die, I think I am in the breed and its fascinating world too much to turn back.

P.S. viegas I think i saw the same documentary where this guy name bubba anderson was on there using a nice red red-nosed dog to catch some hogs.

Game dogs are a part of american culture...
Anyone who says any different is in denial.

Thats enough reason right there, just being an American.

funny i was thinking that today. This is out countrys breed and we as people in general want to deny its history and treat it like a monster.

It may be foreign dogs a hundred generations back... but if you don't consider an AMstaff the same breed as the APBT because of the duration of time and direction of breeding programs, then that explains the differentiation between the imported dogs and the dogs we have now. Obviously the difference is not as big as AMstaff to APBT, but still a difference.

animals were selected by americans, bred by americans, for traits desired by americans, so they could compete here with the rules we used.

Yea they were huge and pretty aggressive and look like they could do some real damage to a dog. I would have like to known the breeding of that his dogs to see if they were down from game-lines ( which I suspected) as I thought they worked pretty well.
I am getting increasingly interested in hunting with my dogs so that was a good show also showed the diversity of the breed
