Have you ever seen what can happen to a stray dog that wonders into a yard of APBT? A quick pop is alot kinder than what if's...

    Country living is that basic

I thought we were talking about ALL strays? like....everywhere! A useless animal is just that, useless, but still if its doing nothing then who needs the penis extention of pulling out a gun and shooting it? for no other reason than its there. where you live in the world will I suppose change your view...for example in some countries stray dogs are like walking skeletons and carry diseases like rabies for example and need to be culled because they are an obvious danger and NEED to be culled. A stray who is just 'there' and no obvious threat does not need to be culled.
The true pit dog is not a beast of burden, he or she is a gladiator. are we all here showing our interest and respect to beasts of burden...are you serious?

My problem here is the motive behind a mind that thinks its ok just to blast away at ANY dog he sees just because its there? this thing is not as black and white as some folk think it is,.

A stray is a problem when I used to live in Texas out in the country there was a big problem with strays, and loose "pets". I have helped a few that I took a liking to. I have also shot, and killed strays, and a few family "pets". Not because I don't agree with them living, but I don't agree with the problems they were causing, and could possibly cause. I have had them tear up my chicken run, and kill a few chickens. I have had them come to me, and visitors at my old place with aggression. I have had them tear up things on my property back in Texas. I don't take kindly to that. One morning I had the neighbors big Golden Retriever in front of my place, and act in a threatening manner such as snapping, and advancing on me going to attack so I shot that dog right in the head. I asked them to keep their dog on their property several times, and they couldn't manage to do it so I helped them. Stray dogs present a threat no matter how you slice it. They could possibly be infected with rabies, distemper, or many other things that I do not want on my yard such as parvo. I don't shoot everything I see as soon as I can, but I don't let everything run free, and do what they wish like a jack ass peta member. Unless you have had to deal with these situations you probably have no clue as to what you are talking about. The risk increases when kids are involved. In closing, should all strays die? probably not....I have helped a few like I said, but all in all they are a big pest, and need to be thinned out. If I see it fit I will kill a stray, and not think another thing about it.

I've seen stray dogs pack up like a bunch of coyote's.And you better believe those fuckers can cause trouble.Where im from they're walking targets. As far a a random stray on the street,in the city, away from my home i could care less. But if they come on my yard, bad news for them.

That's what I'm talkin about. They'll come for blood if they see you in the woods too so you better have a good side arm if you're bow huntin. They'll breed with coyotes too. Bad news.

Yup we had those too yard boy. They are called "wild dogs" back home there part domestic stray part coyote.Problem is they get some size to em when they breed like that. And they are some cow catching M****ER F****ERS,those get terminated with extreme prejudice.

Yea, they call em coy dogs around here but it's the same thing. Cross a wild pack animal with a bigger domestic dog and you get a pack of wild maneaters who ain't afraid of people and will take one down. They used to be a big problem, haven't really heard about any in the last ten years but I'm sure it happens. Tell you another thing, could be the beat dog in the world but if it's in the woods runnin dear, chances are it's gonna get shot by a pissed off deer hunter. People sure do take deer huntin personal around here.

I'm guessing you have never had the same problem with stray animals....either that or you are to soft/stupid to do what needs to be done in certain situations which are most of the situations involving strays.

I only read page 1 so forgive if I missed any revelations in the other 5. I would not cry over plugging strays. The loose dogs here -- not technically all STRAYS but many perpetually straying -- make it so I have to range out in the dang cottonfields for a safe spot to roadwork dogs. That's more or less bullshit. But the tree-hugging fur-mommy side of me understands that everyone can have a dog get loose once in a while. I would not want someone capping my dog just because she got off the property. Though if it did I'd have myself to blame, I know.
