New here, wanted to show off my pup!

Hey all, I've been lurking here on and off for a few years but am only just now getting around to getting an account and posting. I've had a few mutted up rescue APBTs over the years, but just now took the plunge and got a REAL APBT a couple of weeks ago.

This is Moses, I don't have his ped online but he's got Hemphill/Gator on top and Hemphill/Sarona on bottom. OFRNs have always run a bit big for my tastes and Sarona especially look a bit too much like showdogs for me personally but I liked this pups parents (both are excellent catch dogs that are hunted with regularly) and his pedigree is solid so I took the opportunity to get him. He's my first weightpull prospect and I'd love to try hog hunting with him one day. He's not the best put together puppy I've ever seen conformation-wise, but he's not bad and he seems to have a lot of wind and drive even at this age (hauled me 5 miles in 95 degree weather on one of his very first excursions yesterday like it was nothing) so I'm really excited about seeing how he turns out.

He's 13 weeks old, gettin' big and strong on a combination of NV Instinct and raw. Just wanted to show him off and see what you guys think!

































Wish he had less white on him, but color doesn't make the dog!

(Also, in case it comes up, no he doesn't get left tied out like that, it was just so I could stop and grab some pics on a walk. )

 

lol well sorry to burst your bubble but you still aint really got a real APBT lol!!! Im pretty sure and trust me someone will correct me if im wrong lol but Sorona is a Staff line??? Either way he is a good lookin animal and honestly its cause of the white makes the brindle pop lol!!!

 

its a debate but i would consider sarona a show line but its still a good looking pup and should serve the purpose he wants. Dont worry so much about what others think, just enjoy your pup. Thanks for sharing

probly not a good idea letting a thirteen week old pup haul you over 5miles. id let him be a pup, working him that hard will hurt a pup badly.

Hey, that's cool, I'm here to learn! The majority of the dogs in his ped are Hemphill, there's only a couple Sarona dogs, looks like. Either way, he'll serve his purpose and as long as I have a good working pup I'll be happy regardless of how he's bred.

Also, yeah, the 5 mile thing is NOT something I would normally do with a pup at all, I just got carried away taking pictures and kept going, that was definitely a one off.

glad to here, it would be a shame for him to never be able to perform at his very best for you because he was ruined before he had a chance to develop all of his muscles and tools, even worse an early death which would suck for him and you then you would have to start all over again.

Welcome. Good looking little guy make sure to take care of him, he will be around for a long time, and dont let him eat or mess with stuff on the ground while you are on those long walks until he is older and his immune system is stronger.

 

good answer, alotta folks get hung up on peds (me included), but if youre happy that is all that matters. good luck with him, hes a good looking little guy

Dont worry about papers, "real bulldog" or not, if he makes you happy, that should be more than enough.
