Paper hanging to me

this is a funny ass thread!

 

There's some true well known back in the day bulldogs (found in alot of our peds today) aren't bred the way their peds say so. When it was legal back in the day, and people ended up with a dog that turned out exceptional, why would they want everyone else to know the recipe? (aka ped) That's like comin up with a famous recipe, and just giving it away to everyone. So technically, alot of our dogs of today may not be bred the way their papers say.

As far as folks nowadays 'selling' pups and saying they're off of so-and-so who are proven and what-not, yeah of course it's messed up to lie about that. However, we stick to our own stock, and really never have a need to go out of our circle of people so we won't be running across said issue of paper hanging. We know and trust those close to us. Papers are just not that important anyway. The dog makes the papers, the papers don't make the dog. You can speculate how a dog SHOULD perform and what traits it most likely will carry by looking at a ped, but ultimatley the dog himself is what will or will not prove to be true.

well i have seen paper hanging first hand, this well known kennel had a 2xw that he was breeding and selling pups off him, he had a yard full of pups off him, hell i had a couple myself, this stud was a man biter to say the least, well the kennel owner was out of town at a dog show when another male dog got off the chain and hit his 2xw stud dog, it was bad they say, well the guys taking care of the yard couldnt stop the fight because the 2xw was a man biter and they were scared of him, well he finally tired out enough they pulled the lose dog away from him. the stud dog was tore up as bad as the other, they called the kennel owner and told him what had happened and he was tore up pretty bad, he told them he was a bulldog and would be fine, well he died 3 days later and that was that, only a hand full of people knew about it, he still advertised on all the boards for pups and stud off his 2xw, i know this dog died in 04, and i have seen pups born in 06 that this 2xw is the father of on the paper work.

 

And this is or was all i'm tryin to say. I'm not saying burn em at the stake and I'm not saying it's okay, just if you HAVE to do it just give me an idea of what might be a good way to go to either preserve or build on what YOU did before... keep your recipe a secret if you want just give me an idea of what would be a good way to make it better, because at the end of the day ain't that what we're ALL in this for?

 

LOL Hell with that i'm sayin burn em at the stake only thing worse then a paper hanger is a dog theif!!!! You people tryin to justify paper hangin by sayin thats how some did it back in the day so what that dont make it right. They did alot of shystie shit back in the day dont make it right!!!

 

there both the same shit to me because u are stealing from the ppl u are selling the dogs 2 as someone dog thieving u..

 

hell with that.keep your recipe a secret?here is mine that bad ass to that bad ass and so on.not this paper to that.if you dont know them enough to know whats what then you might not want one.why?paper hangers!or thiefs(all the same)

 

I think we need to clarify a few things. There are multiple reasons people hang papers. Here are some situations.

1. These are not bulldogs and this person is looking to make money, so they hang pretty pedigrees on some BS.

2. This person has a good bulldog that is performing and producing, but has no papers (such as ADBA) and decides to use the papers of another dog to sale puppies because some people want papers.

3. The person is unsure of the sire of the litter but picks a male with nice papers who COULD have been the sire and uses the best papers of all the possible studs.

I am sure there are several scenarios that people hang papers in. All are different. It's not always someone trying to sale a bad dog.

My opinion? I could care less about paper hangers. Know who you get your dogs from and avoid a world of trouble. If someone hangs papers, eventually it WILL come to the light.

 

This thread reminds me of the qoute by a famous dogman that basically states that anyone hung up on papers disrespects the bulldog and aren't dogmen.

Even funnier is that there is someone on this thread who is acting like there shit don't stink when i know they are affiliated with or have done business with a kennel which in my opinion is not on the up and up:rolleyes:

it just illustrates the point that you shouldn't believe everything you read on the internet..........
