Great post Viegas a lot of us amateurs are keen to learn and who wouldn't want to know who the champion heavy weights are\were. I've read Colby's Pincher was 72lbs back in 1910. Another thread on here had a 90lb champ. Now to really upset the purists I've read where 150lb Tosa's and Kangal dogs have defeated 50 lb APBT's. I would like to believe that a game 70lb plus APBT would have to be the ultimate champion breed open to any weight. As from where these giants come from all breeds throw exceptional size pups I had a friend who's 42lb show bred Staffordshire Bull Terrier had a litter brother go 72lbs. I've showed photos of 62 and 75lb bitches back in Australia in the 90's. My theory is that early some importers to Australia were wrongly impressed by bigger is better and imported and bred bigger dogs. Quality of the bigger dogs usually seems to suffer % wise, particularly game ness. But imagine the 1 in a million 80lb dog with the drive of a Jeep or Chinaman.
