so dont play that "MMA fighter cant beat boxer in a boxing match" card..its happened and it will continue to happen if Belfort signs more contracts to fight in the Boxing ring..

P.S alot of MMA fighters have proffesional boxing training and what you think is sloppy is what most people consider skill..they dont wear 8 oz gloves that they can use as protection like boxers do..the style you see is the adaptation they need to keep from getting dropped..
also i'd put my money on Lyoto or Silva over damn near any boxer if the were wearing 4 oz MMA gloves:cool:

dunno what kind of skills they possess, you have only seen them box. just because the man holds a title in the sport of boxing doesnt mean that is all he knows how to do. brock obviously knows how to do more than wrestle.

 

honestly, MMA fighters are incredible athletes whos bodies can take more punishment than any regular human being. But you would have to think if chuck lidel can keep on his feet and strike with his hands good enough to win in a KO fashion, that a professional boxer if he can avoid a take down can deliver enough punishment with his hands to knock a man out, MMA or not.

Either way it goes, any one can defeat any one on any given day. Man Vs Man is always a toss up regardless of who you are and what you know. An average joe can knock out a professional boxer if he lands a nice one and could do the same to an MMA fighter. So it makes no sense to say one cannot defeat another.

 

What you guys are failing to understand is a boxer will have to change his stance for an MMA fight. That is where it will all go wrong for him. If he uses his traditional boxing stance he will be open to getting his legs kicked and if he keeps his traditonal stance he would also be easier to take down. Since the boxer has been using that stance for so many years, it will be tough for him to get comfortable changing it up. Yes a boxer stands a punchers chance like anyone else. Just look at the Ray Mercer/Tim Sylvia fight, shit happens. General speaking they are 2 different sports and should always be looked at that way.

and in a boxing match a MMA fighter will have to change his stance for a boxer or get his face punched in

 

I agree an elite MMA fighter stands no chance in hell against an elite level boxer or even just a good boxer in the boxing ring. Even the conditioning is different. Take an in shape boxer and he will be gassed in the cage and same with an mma fighter in a boxing ring. He will be gassed too.
