Fastlane dogs vs old school stock

Top animal nutrition has always trickled down from the folx who have the money to push the envalope develop the science etc.. aka horseraceing grayhounds etc... the man is droping knowlidge . Between him and TDKs post on this thread alone.....more bulldog knowldge than many who have done nothing or little to nothing can soak up. P.S. this rant isnt directed at anyone imperticular but rather most jackasses involved with the breed who don't cary enuf respect for the men who passed on our breed and seem to think them know knothing geezers.

Mccoy as stated befor thats a Carvers Ironhead trowback!. oldtimers used to call it a widows peak, coming tru carvers Black widow aka Tudors black shine. But The ironhead based famelies carry alot of that Ironhead mask as we call it. hensh Boomerang used to have 2 pedegrees. advertised as Ironhead x miss spike. later he was is listed as Carvers Pistol x carvers miss spike. But we heard and learnd he was of off Carvers Ironhead x carvers Misss spike. and he shows that ironhead traight to. just like Red Bull. those type of dogs change color with the seasons. having said that most of the ofspring of those deep red(fox colord) Fox bloodline didnt carry that mask. it was said these dogs where the real Pistol x miss spike dogs. and i tent to belive that. same coloration as those deep red grch art/nigerino dogs, who besideds heavy eli bred cary alot of that Carvers pistol color trowback gene/

I have seen another frind of mine spending 50.000 usd back then buying dogs of off them direckly and from others bred douwn from there stuf. And those dogs didnt work out at all. he might have been unlucky and ore workt the wrong way with them ore they pulled his leg i dont know. But for that kind of investmend you need to end up with something.

A bold statemend but his face was very serius and full of respect. and i dont disagree). who could not stand and take 10 min of the presure she got from the 9 year old Tug rom bitch (sister of Irish tims ch loochen). I used to buy loads of greyhound kibble back in the eurly to mid 90,s from a company called Highlex international. they had the same brouwn flakey stuff. They where located in kent!!. at that same time THEY where the first ones to offer me those big barf diet sausages and told me that money wize this would be the future. due to its marketing of raw ingriedienses and being closer to nature. Being polite i took a box of that stuf lookt at is and gave most of it away. and never whent into that stuf ore askt them about it. biggest finansual; mistake i ever made!!!.
Considering what is being sold of that stuf today..

I think what was lost in my questions was that I knew it was an Eli hound but in my mind Eli is to general of a term to use since there are more specific terms.... I should have said hey would you guys call this an Eli dog or am earl jr/midnight cowboy cross... Hey but you right I got an assbackward beautiful bulldog mind!!! Bc I did start breeding dogs before I knew what pedigrees where! We used to keep track of everything in a spiral notebook.... And dream I know exactly what you mean the dogs we have are crosses but we have been breeding what we started with tight and right ever since.... So I see what your saying now and in actuality we ain't far off on opinions just was further off on terminologies. Thanks Red no hard feelings from this way

 

Id say something concidered foundation material. A line that has been loosly bred over time. It is good to focus on on a few sources of the same stock and get an idea as to the results they have had. I do not focus primarily on one dog, one line, or one source. I like to expand out, see what others have, see how they act and so on. I agree. People need to look a little closer at the pedigrees and people would see that the cross is a good thing. What is done after the cross is what matters!!
Some of these guys have great knowledge on breeding and by their pedigrees, we can see how they are put together.
There are a lot of recipes and a lot of cooks. I agree we have some better understanding on genetics for sure. The dogs we have today are awesome. this thread is a good read for people..you all are adding good points and keeping it going very well.

 

Jacko dependng on the dog we feed plain greyhound ore mix the varius greyhound kibble. geografic location together with carasteristic traights of dogs/famely wil detirmin whether you feed a higer ore lower protien diet ore a mix.. most dogs fair wel on a 25/27% protien/17% fat being on the chain ore kenneld dog. light and medium work is ghood with these feeds. ps chek health forum.

So lemme ask this any of you ever tried any type of cat food? I have used it some bc of the fact it's high protein low fat.... I mean I ain't got no scientific reason.... I just like the idea of a high protein low fat diet and one day while I was reading the labels and stuff at the feed store I stumbled onto a cat food (can't remember exact one) but it was 36% protein 8% fat and I was like hey I wonder if this might be better...... Any thoughts or experiences on that??

Seemed to me that it did what I thought it would and I got better performance and could cut the fat off of em and keep em in better shape on the chain

thats right Red..lots of people who feed too much protein and not enough carbs...carbs equals energy..body converts carbs to sugar which turns into fat..So thier is a perfect balance diet a dog should be fed and I agree with Limey on that.And too much protein is a waste if your not workin a dog all he does is shit out what he dont use.
