This article speaks of common sense. I have another thing to add, people should not automatically assume that your pet will get along with they're pet if they bring it along for the trip.

Actually there are several elements of this thread worth noting. First good report, jawbone that revelations would have caused me to not let my cousin or his family over again. And Dora that is one cute puppy. Like a Little polar pup. Also Jawbone I will make sure I don't buy any stock from a person that makes and produces mean dogs. That is just what we don't need. People already make our dogs out to be monsters even if the dog just sits there and does nothing. I have had several fights over that topic. Some fat toe sack told me the other day that he would not own one of them beastly killing machines. I was glad my dogs are well behaived I had three of them in the stang with me. I stepped out and slapped the shit out of him and said they wouldn't have you either you big bag of cottage cheese. I would have to be When the Priest was getting some stuff at the health food place. I just said repent I will be there yup I know. He didn't say a word though. And Chubby the Fat didn't say anything more either. I gave him my card if he wanted to discuss it again. He just balled it up and through it on the ground. I thought it was just any way.lol After all the sign says don't worry about the dogs the owner is rabid.

they are mean little dogs. I have one across the street from me that thinks she is 7 feet tall and wide as an ox. It bit one of my dogs once. Thank God I had a tight grip on the leash. Funny how they get a $25 fine but if it was my dog it would be much more and they would put mine to sleep. And that little rat is still across the road and comes over. One of my dogs on the cable did get it once but I was there to get it out of her mouth before she killed the dang thing. It knows the limits of the cables. But when the day comes that the cable breaks My male Shar-Pei gets it I wouln't be admitting to it thats for sure. I think I have done well not to let any thing happen to the little monster yet. 12 years I have owned this place and the dog is 18 years old. Not much longer to wait I suppose and I wont have to watch for it any more.

Well alot of kids like to pull dogs tails i have seen that happen plenty times. An well dogs really dont like that... Also i've heard of alot of dog attacks happening on the other person property because the child goes into trying to pet the dog(while beeing un supervised of course).

  6. I have six dogs on my yard currently... all APBT. My 3-year-old daughter knows she is not allowed around or near our dogs, or any other, by herself. I've taught her from the time she first started walking that dogs are to be treated with respect. Basically, you wouldn't want someone just hitting or kicking you out of the blue, and you don't do it to anyone or anything else. Seems like common sense to me. She's been around alot of dogs and the only one that ever bit her was a chihuahua (sp.?), totally unprovoked. My grandmother's friend brought the mean-a$$ little dog to a family cook out to show it off. While she was laughing about how it keeps chasing the mail man and everyone else in sight, my daughter was walking past and the dog runs up from out of nowhere and latches on her hand. All concerned were lucky that she got to the dog before I did. Most of the time, it goes back to exercising COMMON SENSE. If you know your dog is prone to be aggressive, no matter how big or small, why take the chance?

+1 more for someone that has been attacked by a dachshund. I was walking in a park when 3 dogs ran out from nowhere, the most aggressive being a dachshund. I got bitten on my leg and ended up kicking the dog to stop it. After this bite happened the owners appeared also out of nowhere and acted as if it was no big deal to have 3 unleashed dogs running around in a park. ESPECIALLY one that bites people in the legs!

It's all about "perception" of threat.

If you asked a parent whether they would want their child spending a night at teh house of a friends parent who owned a gun, or one whose parents put in a swimming pool, they would most of the time feel safer about the house with the pool, when in fact swimming pools kill many many more children every year than firearms.

It has nothing to do with real threats, or how to avoid them, it is all about the media pumping up an agenda, like anti-gun or anti-APBT media bias.

I don't see any libs out there trying to ban swimming pools.....
