DON'T use the paste. The 1% solution is too easy to obtain and much safer and more efficient to dose with. This is only my attempt to prevent you setting yourself up for failure or worse. It's often times easier to do the right thing than the wrong thing. Obtain the correct products and use them the correct way and you will be doing your dogs a favor as well as your self. C

I never lost a dog or a puppy with the 1.87% horse paste or ever got one sick either!
I use it, and its been working for me for a long time. I know other people thats been doing it the same way for years. A little less than dime sized on the tip of my finger, on the back of their tongue every month. Iv'e used it every other day on dogs that had mange till they cleared up, with no sick animals. Got rid of the mange! I don't see it harming your dog, unless your dog has an allergic reaction or sonthin, But I've never seen a sick, dying, or dead dog from the 1.87% paste.

The problem with the paste is proper dosing. When people say "dime sized" that's all well and good, but do they mean a flat dime, a mound of paste on the dime, what kind of dime?

and its only good for preventative measures, I recently learned the hard way that it wont remove all eggs or worms for that matter and had a pup that got way down with rounds worms.

Yeah Ivermectin Isn't a cure all! Its a Wormer to me, most effective on the prevention of Heart worms and a mange deter ant and gets some of the intestinal parasites, But should'nt be used alone as a intestinal wormer. I use Ivermectin alongside Pyrantel poamate and Fenbendozole (also in a horse paste) for a more thorough worming.

You can use a product a million times, but it only takes once to kill a dog that you favor. Ivermectin is not going to be fatal in most Cases, but the fact still remains that it is nearly impossible to correctly doSE a 1.87% paste.

Liquid Ivomec and other generic brands are READILY available from alomost all places that supply large animals, and a small bottle is less than $30. I can not see any reason to take even the SMALLEST risk if a safer product is so easy to obtain.

Do I think giving the dog the paste will KILL him, probably not. But that does NOT mean you are doing what's in the best interest for the health and well being of the animals. Doing things the wrong way should just be avoided IMHO.

i give my dogs the paste and everything is fine but i did have a accident where i did not lock the back of the syringe that the paste comes in and squeezed the tube in my dogs mouth and a lot came out i almost lost him he could bearly stand up his eyes were glowing but he did survive.

^ thats why you squeeze the tube before you stick it in their mouth to see how much you get.

but really just buy the bottle. its cheap and you can accurately dose you animal. do not get the plus. also it is 1/10cc to 10lbs.

I have always given my dogs Ivercare from TSC and they have never had a problem. "Pencil eraser" seems to be the best. It's 1CC per 100lbs, and I have a little larger dog than most of you. Better to under-dose than over. Also, for the prevention and care of the other worms, Strongid paste removes everything else. Never a worm from my dog on this combo. I worm them a week separate on these, same rules for size of dose on this, too. But, if you aren't confident, DON'T DO IT!

it is $60 CND Dollars here,

but cheaper I'm sure in the states, we can't even get dog shots at the feed stores here.... you guys can order just about everything you need on line in the U.S.A, fewer restrictions! It's Great for you folks....
