I cant belive this happend, well i guess i can but anway..I do have many years with multiple pits . I now have only three do to the lose of my 13yr old female(Tessa)rip. I picked up a female red nose she is 7 months old (we had her from 6 weeks old) and in her first heat 15days in. I got her to breed with my 8yr old blue.
I know,I know, I know keep them apart. I even stopped working for 2 weeks just so i know they arnt getting at her. when i do leave she is always in a dog cage, well today i was in the garage and i could here the dogs barking and fooling around, through the baby monitor that i use. It was nothing out of the norm. Then i heard it, the little squeel from my bitch,I FREAKED ran as fast as i could not even 20sec away and DAME my male that was going to mate with her in another year, had chewed the cage lock and bent them to the point that he got in... they locked for 10min..... Bonus is it was the right male that got her, but I am more concerned about the health of my female along with the pups.I know she is not mature but she has a very relaxed personality. She is also the biggest bitch i have had she is 62lbs. Please any feed back would be good, even the bad,I messed up big :( sorry about any spelling mistakes im the worst:cheers:

another one of these... if you want the pups leave her intact. If you think her safety is at risk get her spayed and the pups will be aborted. Or you could kill the pups as soon as they are born, not a good situation to be brought into and they might be better off.

imo if you didn't want her bred you should have been more careful. Good luck with the litter whatever you decide todo.

you probably wouldnt want to hear what i think but i guess all you can do now is hope for the best.

next time you might want to think about putting a lock on the cage.

Yeah, not good for her or the pups. You should've kept them apart at all cost, that would've been the responsible thing to do. I don't know you or your intentions, so i don't know if this is really an "accident". But definitely irresponsible.

I wish you the best with this litter, and YES 17 months old is still too young to breed.

Many backyard breeders have litters on the first heat cycle, so everything may go fine. But always plan for possible problems like needing a c-section or mastitis, or other issues that can land you at the vet with a hefty bill and possibly the loss of your bitch.

I would also prepare for what happens if the immatue female does not raise the pups. The task of feeding a litter of up to 12 puppies is not an easy one.

As I said before, hopefully all goes well. We all learn from our mistakes and as long as you modify your confinement methods in the future everything should be fine. :)

many backyard breeders breed on the first cycle. this guy being one.

hopefully your litter will throw all rednose's, we all know thats the best blood around these days
