cause thats their dog..... why match a 15 0 pund dog that will rarely fight for over 10 minutes? alot of those people dont have alot of mney poor BYB fights they cant recruit really any top gamedogs so they match whats in abundance eventhough usually they are 150 curs that run in fields... you goto the poor section in turkey and thats all they do is back yard street fights with big curs...

One reason there weren't any matches between ambullys and pit bulls is there weren't any ambullys back then. They are a recent breed. If they would have been any back then they would have been matched. Several other breeds were matched. The pit bull wasn't the only dog to be matched. He was just the best.
There have been several crossbreeds that have done pretty good in matches. One was a boston terrier/pit bull. It was registered as a pit bull and is in the pedigree of some of todays dogs. There have been others. Dalmation/pit bull and pointer/pit bulls crosses have won matches.

The only breed I've never seen the bulldog defeat is the tosa, and from what I've been told it is very rare for the bulldog to be victorious. Who cares? Nothing comes close p4p

Of course there were American bulldogs, My great grandfather had American bulldogs he used around his place for all sorts of different jobs. Reason they weren't matched was they were used for other jobs, You need livestock control, Hog catchers things of that nature and you lived in the deep south the American bulldog was your go to guy. You were interested in sporting and actually getting someplace with it you went to the good old game dog.

The dogs you are talking about are a completely different dog than the ambully of today.
Back in the 1980's there was a couple of people who began advertising the ambull. There was a lot of discussion about how old the breed was.
How it had been around for many years.
The truth is a couple of men crossed the pit bull with some other breeds to recreate the old ambull. The dogs were based on a picture of a dog. After the owners of some of the digs used came forward they admitted the truth. They didn't have any of the old style ambull. They recreated a dog that they thought was the same makeup as the old style dog. For a few years when an ambull was bred to an ambull a few generations the dog returned to the size of the pit bull.
With more refinement they produced a group of dogs that did breed true.

There are still a couple of people around that knows what dogs were used to recreate the ambull.
If you check the pedigree of todays ambull you will find they do not go back that far. It is possible to track many pit bulls pedigree back to when they were imported. Ambulls pedigree are short compared to the pit bull.

Chinaman would have done him in in short order ... how much did goti weigh? I thought to be honest with ya that bullly was one of the btter builds more suited for fighting but still.... them short stocky things wouldnt last 3 min ....anyone seen that dogo argentino vs apbt match when they went head to head for 2 min then the apbt started going to work on em and the dogo at the end was just laying there gettin shook like a rag doll. that apbt was prolly outweighed by about 30 pounds

anyone see that one? real rowdy match

Just remember you can't put up any videos or things of that nature that violate the animal welfare act.

  18. Wow i just checked out some videos and the pits got there asses whooped.. The other dogs seem to be 3 or 4 times bigger and knock them around like rag dolls... Those apbt have to be pets or unseasoned dogs... Wonder what plumbers gator or someone like zebo or jimmy boots or some hard mouthed ace could have done.lol..but then again a real dogman wouldnt match against a non apbt...

Only reason I started this thread is because I see so many people who own bullys that's think they are real apbt. So I figuerd these dudes must have tried to pit these dogs. As far as far as the comments about the pitbull not beiing able to take a tosa, I'd also agree I have never seen it happen either. The video where the pit ruins the dogo, that dogo is more than 30lbs heavier. They're big dogs
