That is true in a lot of cases. But I do believe there are good breeders out there open to public. Some do take this as a for profit business and like you said some breed for pretty papers. I guess since I'm the type of person that will sale good dogs I expect the same from all but it don't happen like that!! Definetly 99% of fast lane guys won't sell you shit!!! But you got people like me who don't have much interest left for the fast lane but has a great passion and focus on keeping the dogs true. I strive to better my stock but ill also let some go. Most fast lane bulldoggers won't let any go for fear of having to go into a dog they bred, since I ain't got that problem I don't mind. I'm probly an exception tho definetly not the rule. All my hounds have to prove theirselves to me, I look at it like this. Say you breed Coon Dogs and you are selling to the public, better make dam sure they'll tree a Coon! Now I follow same scenario just with a diff breed. My name and reputation is why I make sure I only breed proven stock, hell after a dog hits 2years it's gonna be proven or it won't be on my yard. To me people selling pretty paper dogs off unproven stock are peddlers. And there are a few breeders who truly are sticking to the original formula.

Two kinds of dogmen: Action guys and Breeders.. Two kinds of breeders: private and peddler ........... Very few dogmen are great action men and great breeders, you can count them on one hand.....

    They all need each other~

    Say it crayon.........

There are several people breeding game-bred hounds, but there are no guarantees that any pup will be extremely game, although I do believe in pecentages. I personally have sold several this yr, but more so than any yr prior, but havn't bred for several yrs till this past yr. (If that makes any sense) I know what I have and breed are game.

Makes sense to me. It's a percentage game because you get good and bad in any line and from any breeder. A novice breeder might have a lucky litter and turn out a good'un and a top notch pro breeder has duds along the way

In most cases i would call bullshit. Half of these breeders dont even know what game means/is. Thats not saying their are not some out their. I figure the guy breeding true game dogs wont have to advertise that fact, him and his dogs reputation would be the only type of advertising used. Thats if you can find a true dogman selling to the public.

    Google that ish!!!!!!!!!!

lol, They aren't hard to find at all, I could easily find one in damn near every state.
The problem I see more often than not is people who just want everyone else do do their homework for them.
Many private kennels out there that will sell to the public ( I aint one of them so don't ask but they are out there and there is plenty of them with proven stock).
I didn't read this whole thread but gamebred dog and gamedog are 2 different things, one has to do with ancestory the other, the individual. A gamebred dog may or may not be game, It's a roll of the dice when your dealing with pups from ANY dog and has more to do with who bred said dogs and why....

anyone talking " gamebred" just opens themselves up to a shit storm. years ago they were just called bulldogs. because there's so much trash out there nowadays. folks need to make there stuff sound the part. out of all the dogs produced over time few have actually been " game" & earned that title. it's at the point even the word "game" has been devalued & watered down so much folks can't even agree what it is. 20 years from now the best dogs will be found outside of america. and that's a fucking shame it has come to this point. the past few years i have got a betterunderstanding of why a lot of the older guys culled there whole yard before they passed on.

That's why the ones who know gotta fight hard to protect the legacy of these dogs! If enough people stay true we can make it! And as far as them comin from outside America sad but true because of the laws on books that keep a lot of sporting men away

I refuse to believe that this breed will die out here in america, I know I'm not the only one who feels this way, they will go back undrground where they should have stayed and out of the hands of people who shouldn't own them to begin with but as long as I'm alive and physically able to handle them I will always keep my dogs going regardless of silly ass bullshit laws and there is many more I know who are like minded on that subject. They may die out in the general population one day but there will always be those truly dedicated ones who wont just turn and lay down or jump the wall on their dogs. Anything worth wild has risk and I'll be damned If quit on my dogs as my dogs don't quit on me when it matters the most..... The people who would just give up on them, well, thats just a damn shame and those that feel that way should take a good long look in the mirror and ask yourselves "What are you really all about in the heart department" cuz thats a rank ass cur way of thinking......... Not directed at anyone specific but damn some of yous probally would just roll the fuck over like that if they outlawed the breed all together, yet claim you love this breed and everything about them... lol sure you do ;)

Well brother I'm with ya on that, so that's atleast two dedicated souls to continue the tradition.... And awww man don't get me started on how we got to this point lol, yea it's because of assholes who don't know jack shit about real bulldogs how to treat em handle em or breed em

I whole heartedly agree. If you want a deadgame dog, you should be a deadgame owner.
