    American Bullador
American Bulldog / Labrador Retriever Hybrid
The American Bullador is not a purebred dog. It is a cross between the American Bulldog adn the Labrador Retriever. The best way to determine the temperament of a mixed breed is to look up all breeds in the cross and know you can get any combination of any of the characteristics found in either breed. Not all of these designer hybrid dogs being bred are 50% purebred to 50% purebred. It is very common for breeders to breed multi-generation crosses.

  5. I actually had an Am bullador though I didn't know that's what the cross was called when I had him. Odd. He looked nothing like the 2 dogs pictured even though his mom was pure Johnson American Bulldog and dad was a field bred Black Lab. He was a beast too at 125 fit pounds. :-) best dog I ever had. Its been 18 months since he passed away and I still miss him every day. :-(
    Here's a picture...great dogs...I don't think I'll ever find another like him.

If you hadn't mentioned him being part american bulldog, I would've guessed he was a show bred lab since many of them are regularly hitting 100+ lbs. now.

My neighbors have one that bit my arm up pretty good when they first got him. I don't like his temperament at all, he's really shady. Can't trust him at all.

  8. I know, right? It blows me away to think that people are breeding labs to be so big and heavy. The show bred labs font even look athletic at all. Legs are too short, bodies are too long. Like that dog would be able to safely and easily work the field all day as a gun dog...probably not. Lol. Makes me sad when the akc gets a hold of a really good breed and changes it to look a certain way. Oh well.
Buddha had really short hair though, like a bully. No lab undercoat even in winter. His ears were set too high on his head and 1 inch undershot jaw would have totally wrecked him in the show ring. Lol. It was all part of his charm though.

  9. Omg, that's terrible! How did your arm heal up? Shady dogs, no matter what the breeding is are a HUGE liability, ya? I hope your arm healed up alright.

It's all good now, thanks. Very minimal scarring. This happened a few years ago. Yeah, he is a huge liability for them and a huge pain in the ass for me. He is also fence, food, and toy aggressive towards anyone that not his two owners or their one friend who watches him while they are at work. I'll be feeding him treats through the fence trying to make friends with him, but the second you run out of treats he's slamming against the fence trying to attack. As long as we all keep our distance were fine for now. lol

  11. OMG...what a freak. It's really interesting how personalities of certain dogs can be so different. My Buddha was a pound puppy actually. I worked at the shelter and found him and his sister on the door step in a box when I opened the building on a 25 degree morning in December. His littermate was a spastic lil thing (constantly harassing poor Buddha to the point that he would just cower in the corner of his kennel while she chewed on him)and I knew if she wasn't socialized well and raised with a no nonsense hand as a pup that she was gonna have issues. Sure enough, she came back to the shelter as an 11 month old on bite quarantine with severe aggression issues.
Buddha was the exact opposite. Rather lazy and a snuggle bug. No aggression issues over anything, would sleep with the cats and let my niece and nephews climb all over him. I got lucky with him...thank goodness.

I believe that breed already has been developed its called a bullshit.

  14. Heh heh. Yeah, the "designer dog" craze makes me crazy. I'm one of those people that lives by, "don't breed or buy while shelter dogs die".
Rather than breeding a mutt...adopt a shelter dog. :-) But I also have mad love for responsibly bred purebred dogs.
Funny thought though. I have actually seen a French bulldog/shih tzu mix. Quite possibly the ugliest dog I had ever seen. So ugly it was cute. :-)
