that is WELDON'S Jimmy Boots, cudaboy, NEVER was Greenwood's and Ralph never claimed to own him. Jimmy Boots was a 2x winner and was a great dog. I Knew the dog and the men and know they didn't need bullshit titles on him to recognize him as a great dog.

are you saying buck was a cur ? rodneys opponents were nothing like the same quality as buck faced.

 

Not at all!! I think Buck is one of the greatest dogs to ever live. From what I've been total Rodney was the total package and nothing could stay with him for long as once he hit his spot it was over!! David Tant called Rodney the greatest of the Yellow dogs ever!!

Never once did I imply Buck was a cur! You are trying to put words in my mouth. Buck was as deep game as they come as he proved it with Sandman.

 

I always though Mayday took more after Dolly then Yellow.

 

Colour wise and ears are definitely Dolly. So he does resemble Dolly. I just think build/ structure wise he resembles his sire. Especially this pick posted of Yellow.

 

but if a dog is stopped in short order ain't he a cur ? i will say again, buck faced much better opposition than rodney. rodney was a good dog no doubt but if you look at his record then it does not compare to buck, he went to the hour mark once, its not like he destroyed every dog in 10 minutes like shady lady. maybe he would have beat buck but personally i would have bet against him doing that. it seems everybody now has a dog that could have beaten buck, i wonder where they all were when he was active lol

 

also , buck was 2 or 3lb heavier than rodney & was campaigned by STP for his first 3, STP always said buck was their best dog. i will take their word for it

 

Rodney was open to the world for 2 years with no takers!! I've been told STP turned down a hunt with buck and Rodney. That dosnt mean jack. To Answer your question for the 3rd time No Buck was not a cur he was one of the greatest of all time!! That being said from talking to people who saw them both hunt most say that Rodney would have hit his spot and would have finished buck.. This is all a moot point as we will never know what would have happened between two of the greatest had they met!

 

stp owned buck and they owned rodney too, they did not consider rodney as good as buck,and that is why they sold him as a 3x winner to the havana boys . if you are going to state a dog could be stopped in short order, maybe you should first realise what the term stopped means when dealing with these dogs.

Hernandez nigger. Silver fox an a few others said he was the best pit dog they ever seen.

 

This will always be a topic that is strickly ones own opinion since you can only go into what is in front of you. Dogs like Pincher, Centipede and many others that are long gone will never meet up with dogs like U-Turn, King James etc. So therefore, just like how many licks does it take to get to the center of a tootsie pop, some things will never really be known lol.

I call these the fantasy threads as there is no way to prove it, only speculate.
