Help plz, my dog wants to stay virgin

Ninja personally I do not care for your attitude, you make reffernce that you here to learn but yet when people lay down the knowledge on you you don't like what they have to say ?

Basically your asking adivse as to how ot run your BYB operation you got going on, well no one is going ot help answer your questions because you have ZERO business breeding dogs. Everyone is saying the same thing to you, its not because we dont like but because its panifully obvious that you have no clue. If you have no clue what your doing then why do it ? Because people like your dogs ? Not a good enough reason to produce more shit eaters. I wouldn't give a nickel for anything your breeding.....if you have no clue what your doing then how well is this breeding really going to be ?

I guess their definition of showing dogs is showing them to the neighbors, and neighbor hood kids...

 

well people here goes a little of what i know in Mexico they show dogs just like in the US ADBA with and with out papers and i do understand what everybody is saying about the breeding part and they don't show just to neighbors, and neighborhood kids they are not that ignorant this person needs a 101 on breeding, i needed a lot of info and thanks to alot of you guys i learned a lot.

 

Ninja - First of all I hate to burst your bubble, but you are NOT supposed to breed blues to other blues. Blue is a mutation that results in the dilution of the color black. If you keep breeding dilute x dilute together, the pigment will become more & more faulty, until you end up with washed out blues like your female.

In addition to causing pigment problems, repeated blue x blue will increase any number of skin problems, the most common being skin allergies & Color Dilution Alopecia (CDA). CDA is so common in blues it is actually called "blue dog disease."

That is why any knowledgeable breeder will tell you the best breeding is blue to BLACK, never blue to blue. Blue x black will keep the pigment nice & strong & is the best breeding you can do with a blue dog. So if you are going to be a REPUTABLE breeder, you should just shelve your breeding plans now.

But if you insist on breeding your blue yearlings, take the advice given you:

- Wait until she is actually ovulating. At 7 days she is not ovulating. Most breeders do their first breeding at day 9, some wait as late as days 11 through 15.

- Get ready to get your hands dirty. And I do mean dirty. Like dog ejaculate? I hope so. If the dogs have breeding difficulties (& it sounds like they are) guess who's going to have to guide the male in? That's right ... you! And that means putting your hand on his member & literally guiding him in. Sometimes when he feels your hand on him down there & he's excited, guess what he'll do? You guessed it! Hope you have an old sock ready!

- Get ready for a fight. This is common with breeding APBTs, esp. first time females.

- Get ready to hold her. If she moves or jerks away she can cause irrepairable damage to either her vagina, his penis or both. So get ready to sit with them for 15 mins ... 20 mins .. 30 min ... or more.

- Get ready to get bit. A female who might not want to be bred can re-direct on you & give you a good bite for you to remember your efforts by.

And this is not even considering the birth & rasing of the pups. Momma doesn't do it all. You're going to have to be in there from birth, to weaning to good-byes ... & beyond from the looks of the dogs you plan on breeding.

Oh well, ces't la vie. Good luck & take the advice given you.

I too am curious how the dogs are bred. Ninja doesn't know or care ...

"My dogs are not gamebred and i don't know their peds, but i am not ashamed of that."

Another thing I forgot to throw in there Ninja - if you think you're going to make money selling "rare blue" APBTs you are WAY off base. There are TONS of them already in the rescue & shelter system. Blues are a dime a dozen & you can adopt any blue from a shelter or rescue in almost any state.

Here is one who was dumped at a high kill shelter:



I could post MANY more, but I don't have the time as I have to get ready to go to work. But if you want, I CAN post more pics later for you of beautiful blues currently sitting in shelters & rescues. Heck, my husband & I even rescued a beautiful blue female that was starving & put out onto the street! So please don't think you'll be making the big bucks by breeding your 2 blues, not when people can get them from shelters & rescues all day long for $150.

And don't be fooled by the friends & family who say they want one either. Many times those who say they want one the most passionately are the first ones who back out at the last minute, leaving you with a house of yowling, screaming puppies who will still need to be fed, vaccinated, wormed, etc. until you can find GOOD homes for them.

Just another point to ponder.

 

That would be the best thing for him to do, take the advise, but we all know what he is going to do. Them pups will be bred and peddled no matter what we say to try to discourage him. And the cycle continues.

Yeah, but a lot of people get run off b/c some members here (not naming any names, just saying in general) can be so dang mean. It never amazes me that a guy will come here for help & some folks here will just maul him to micro-shreds & then wonder why he left. I have said it once & I will say it again - "you can catch more flies with honey than you can with vinegar." Being harsh to anyone like ninja just makes them think we're nothing but a bunch of stupid "haters" & it makes them even more determined to go out & do whatever hair-brained idea they had come to us for advice for. Then they they leave without gaining some knowledge that really could have benefitted them.

It's a shame really.

But oh well. Ninja has hit the hills. I guess we can look for another litter of awesome blue pups in about 63 days.
