    Hello everybody,

Just a few words to introduce myself.

Im from Dublin Ireland, have owned 1 pit bull in the past when I was young, scatter-bred, called Buck, he was a constant ball of energy but also very good with younger kids, only thing he dint like was other dogs:rolleyes:

Over here there isnt much choice of bloodlines or even records kept of breeding, as far as I can make out, all BYB type stuff although it doesnt look like they are breeding for the common fad's of fat head's and low slung bodys.

I have friends who breed show type SBT but have always prefered a dog with a bit more athleticism and stil built for what was intended.

I am now getting my own place and I am looking to learn a bit more before buying a dog, again sadly the chance of picking up a well bred dog in Ireland is slim.

Well thanks for having me and I look forward to learning a bit more.

Yes have been looking into a few staffs, more likely to get some quality dogs there if you find the right person, not so much with the pitbull's sadly.
Yes its a nice country at times, recession is biting us in the ass tho, just like everywhere else I suppose:(

You said there is no records of breeding or bloodlines.

thats just silly. theres plenty of game bred dogs on the isles with some serious doggers aswel. Plenty have been exported from US in recent times. There are records / lines ect but its alot more closed off since the actual breed is illegal. if your in the know your in the know if not ... well its probably for the better.

    Hey Titch,

Yes I know there are some serious dogmen, but you are right, it is closed off and hard to gain entry and rightfully so, however they are not illegal here in Ireland, thats why every Tom, Dick and harry has one and these are the people i refer to when I say no records are kept.
Its not like the US where there is a big effort to keep a line tight or to know the ancestory of your dogs, you cant just walk out and say i want a tight RBJ dog or a Eli/Carver bred dog and find a breeder easy.
There are no peds offered with bulldogs here from the average person (99%) selling them, if you are dealing with somebody who knows his stuff they will of course know how there dog is bred, but as i say its mostly people who have a bitch, there friend has a male and hey presto you have a litter.
So yes, it was a bit silly to say there are NO records kept as I am sure the tiny fraction of real dogmen do
