You're pretty good at twisting words around, I'll give ya that. This will just end up being a circular conversation so I will just agree to disagree at this point.

Goddamn im happy i dont live in the States anymore. What utter bullshit it is. I do have one question tho. Why dont you all just walk your dogs in the middle of the night and real early in the morning and during the day keep them inside or in the yard to do their bussiness? In my country we have multiple ignorant people with their mutts that dont leash so i just walk mine when there is noone around. It still is out of sight out of mind...

  3. My lady, please forgive me but I did do direct quotes without editing your thoughts.

I am a gentleman and would never attempt to maliciously corrupt your thoughts. This is why I tend to do direct quotes. Fair is fair. Only through intelligent debate can the mind improve. I love it when someone convinces me or proves their point. Learning and being corrected is like a natural high.

I have heard this concept from many people who worry about the affect muzzling their dog will have on the dog, {ie; creating a more defensive dog, or just worry about their dog being injured} and no doubt there are those senstive dogs that may react negatively to such a situation, but honestly, my boy, and I'm sure there are other dogs like this to, is just to friggin' thick to care. When that big mutt attacked him, he thought it rocked! lol My old landlords big rotti/blood house cross went at him when he was muzzled as well and he couldn't have been happier than if he had ahold of the dog himself. I think the difference with his DA is the reason behind it. He's not doing it because he's defensive or protecting me. He's doing it because it's fun! lol It's just as fun for him to get bit, as it is for him to do the biting. lol We don't call him Big Dummy for nothin'! ;)

I don't believe this is true necessarily, at least not with my dogs. They aren't going into defense drive with they see a dog. I don't think it even occurs to them that the dog might be a danger. They are just reacting to their genetics which have given them a high prey/fight drive.

  6. No lady....my quoted words is what you say to the cops....not necessarily your opinion on why your dog attacked.

It is more acceptable to say my dog wanted to protect me than to say they just love to scrap.:D

Actually, we took Tank to the vet yesterday, and of course he's getting all worked up because it was really busy and some lady goes, ''Awwwww.......... poor guy. He's just scared." I'm like ya.... scared. That's it. lol My vet's great though. They totally get him and love him to bits. I really lucked out with them.

Alright then I will put it this way, I feel that we have a difference of opinion and that your beliefs are very strong and won't be swayed regardless of any of the points I may make. I also used direct quotes, and feel that you didn't get the gist of much of what I said. It is the internet after all and often times things are misunderstood, and when I feel the things that I say go in one ear and out the other, I just agree to disagree.

I myself DO muzzle my dogs on the rare occasion I have to take them off my property. I do this for a couple reasons, #1 to ensure the safety of my dog and #2 to ensure the safety of other peoples dogs. Other dog owners generally do not have to deal with DA and therefore have thier guards lowered and often will place thier dogs in bad situations, sadly this burden should not be ours however we have to be more prepared than the average joe and if wearing a muzzle ensures the safety of all parties then I accept that responsibilty, after all someone has to and you know its not going to be the other guy.

I agree that public perception is not high when they see a muzzled dog however it is due to peoples failures that led us down this road to begin with. Whenever anyone says "oh he must be mean" I reply back..."no he is not mean, he wears this because of narrow minded, uneducated fools with false perception have forced this on us by condeming our dogs as demons and forcing us by law to wear one".

Having a muzzle does prevent your dog from fighting back, I agree and that is the main reason why I no longer take my dogs off property for leasurely walks, its not worth the risk in my eyes. I did have an incident about 20 years ago involving my muzzled dog and an off leash dog, after that day I swore never again. My dog got attacked, while I tried to kick the other dog away the owner just stood there watching....it was at that point when I reached in and removed the muzzle and let my dog do what he was bred to do. I hated letting it get that far but I had to do something and removing the muzzle was the option I chose. When the cops came to the scene I was immediately branded the bad guy, they wanted to take my dog, if it were not for some bystanders who explanied what really happened I would have been out of a dog.

So my point, live and learn.....may it never happen to you, I learned my lesson and will no longer put my dog in situations that jeoprodize thier existance and if wearing a muzzle will help prevent that from happening then muzzle up.

I would advise you to take your own advice. Debates aren't about making friends. You know nothing about me and yet you're throwing out insults. As I said, take it to PM's or the pit.
