I got a question for all you informed electronic people. I'm looking to purchase a 37 or 42 inch LCD TV. I have read so many reviews I don't know what the best buy is for my money. I want quality viewing and sound. So far it looks like Panosonic and Toshiba. Any suggetions?

Both are good brands. If thery are the only two your looking at I would see who has the best warranty. The best decision you made was not to purchase a plasma

Well from someone who installs cable and have seen them all I'd say Samsung then Sony. If they are out of your price range then I'd suggest a Vizio still a great picture just not as expensive.

Thanks for the input. I had a GE that has played for 22 years. I know I won't get that out f a new one. After a day of looking, I'm still TVless. Not a word. Anyway, I'm looking to spend up to about 1000. on one. After reading reviews at consumer reports, the best are the Panasonic and Toshiba, which are not sold in my area. The Sony had a really good picture. So did the Vizio, made by a little known but fast growing company in California, V. The Vizio is about half what the others cost. So I guess I'll head out of town next week and look some more. All the warranty's are for 1 year with a purchase for two. So much to think about.

I have a Samsung and it is awesome. I know people with the Vizios and they are good quality for the money.
