    They are growing up with them. We had our first python, the elder was 1 1/2 old, always have handled them, so she is not afraid because she knows them. Snake phobia is most of the time due to "ignorence" : people who don't know them or who never were in contact with them can be afraid but if you grow up with them...no problem. My second daughter, 6 1/2, has a couple of scorpions...:D
