haha,, that's funny you posted that dog picture becasue I was thinking of it while watching this video. The scientists at the cattle ranch found a cow(s) with that type of gene mutation and started using it for their advantage. (Belgian Blue Cattle)

Gotta wonder what kind of synthetic hormones and steroid type substances they are pumping into that . . . and what kind of genetic tinkering and what the backlash is going to be in a couple of generations of people eating it.

They said the cow was naturally that way through selective breeding. The only real genetic backlash I can think of is a huge loss of flavor. There's barely an fat on that cow!

Precocious adolescence, among other things, is just beginning to be considered as a side effect of all the tweaked meats we ingest - and aren't aware of. And think of how eating a diet heavy in red meat has been linked to cancers and heart disease. No one who is thinking is going to buy that those things come from red meat in its natural state.

Ever eaten any beef raised on a farm with no hormones added, no tweaking, no routine antibiotics, no chemical laced food additives? Just grass and corn?

The ex-SO (thank all the gods I never gave in and married him, lol) raised beef cattle - black Angus, that way. If you've never tasted unadulterated beef, you should. It doesn't taste like the dreck from the store, the commercial butcher shop or a restaurant. You feel a lot better eating it, too.

Think about how much better small, local farm eggs taste compared to the commercially produced eggs from the store.

All that these "improvements" improve is profitability. Not quality, not taste, not nutrition. Money. Last I checked, human beings don't do well on a diet of money. Money's what corporations and bureaucracies live on.
