  2. all i was asking if the guy told me the truth i know all the common crosses.i was just wondering about the later of the post there is no reason to insult me saying i have no clue about genetics i was just wondering about what some dude told me. i dont breed i am 16 and am just curious i wouldnt breed that anyway because the ebt looks like a egg, though i still wonder what it looks like if they are crossed.

I know the dogs you are talking about. They were allways called "White English Pits" and were nothing more than what ever bulldog looking thing they had that would catch hogs bred together. I have never seen a bone game one and most would bite the hell out of a person. ( I got the scares to prove that one) They are not game dogs! and most of them get some health problem as they age. Alot of "pitbull" attacks around Fl and Ga are acually these type dogs. I have not seen as many in the last say 15 years as they once were under every front porch on every trailor in the swamps. 4. Old Southern Whites were hybrids...I agree with triple J on that.

I believe that Scott type of AB was recreated with APBT blood, and many of the Johnson's have been overdone IMO.

As for the the Colby dogs you'll see a lineage going back to 1881 in the states. That dog, Cockney Lloyd's Pilot was imported by JP Colby. The UKC registered the first APBT in 1898. Those Colby dogs have been continuously UKC reg'd from then as far as I know as American Pit Bull Terrier and also with the ADBA from shortly there after. As far as I know the American Bull dog was first registered in the 1970's...now there are some AB that look like pit dogs no doubt. I just don't think they were heavily crossed into game dogs, and specifically the Colby line. As catch dogs. yes. As guardians...yes. Just not as game dogs in any wide scale.

I'd bet that Lou Colby (roughly the same age as the your grandpa Clint73) will give you a good perspective if someone was to email him...I'm curious as to what he thinks.

My theory of crossing comes down to this. If I want to paint my house white what other color could I add to make my white paint more white? Why try to add another breed to what is the best breed around. I am sure if there was any benifit to breeding this way the old timers would of did it and perfected it a long time ago.

Are there any other PURE bloodlines which date back as far as or comes close to the heritage that Colby dogs have to date?

I think its known that you can get some dogs that will perform from such breedings but would I be right in saying that they cant produce what they were? As in they may be good dogs but they arent worth breeding as the % are too low?

What has been your experience with breeding battle crosses? Would the above hold true?

I dont think Stormer had any production record to speak of did he? As for Psycho, he only had a very small % of ebt blood, 1/8 or 1/16 if I am not mistaken (which I probably am)
