  1. Hello Having a problem

I'll start from the begining. I've had and breed pitbulls for 17 years. I had a male Redboy/Jeep Jocko/RedDevil, His name was TROUBLE. He was the love of my life. Everything a man would want from a dog. He was 40 pounds of spitfire, sadly after 15 years of life he past away in 06. Heart broken kid crying me and my wife decided to get another dog. Because the way Troub lived his life we decided at the time not to get a "Game Breed" dog. So we went to a breeder and got a well breed Blue pit. He comes from Great lines He is the Grandson of Juan Gottie/direct Grayline dog. But here's were the problem comes in he's just not like Troub, don't have the heart the Drive, nothing. I would love to get a dog live Troub again but i know what would happen with that. And i can't get rid of him we've had him for a year and a half now......What do i do any idea's out there................

You pretty much dug your own grave there, like buying a Tundra and wondering why it doesn't vroom vroom like a Ferrari. If you don't want the dog you could always take it to the shelter. But you made your bed, and if he's just going to be a family pet I don't see why you can't lie in it

Well . its seems like you found out the hard way of what you got. Well there are plenty of jeep/rb/jocko blood out there. I personally like dogs bred that way, and you said yourself that your BLUE dog doesn't have
the heart, drive, nothing in comparrison to your TROUB.. There are plenty of quality bloodlines that offer whatever characteristics you want.

Seeing that he is a blue(not that there better or etc then any other dog), they seem to be easier to place into homes because people like to look for good looking dogs, dogs they think are rare, and etc. If you really must get rid of him then check if you have any local adoption shelters, or etc. Even though classified newspapers arent the best idea in my local papers i see people looking for free blues or etc alot.

I have never had a blue dog but is it possible that maybe you just haven't found what he loves to do? Have you tried agility or some other sport with him? He might have some drive in there (certainly not as much as you other dog) and you just haven't found it yet.
If the gamebred dog was too much for you, you would probably regret getting another. Maybe you should see your committment through with this dog by going out of your way to find out what he really likes in life. It probably will never match what your other dog could do, but may turn out to be just enough.

In my opinion, it would be incredibly irresponsible to "get rid" of your current dog because of your lack of research. In buying the dog, you made the commitment of caring for that dog until it dies, not until it is convenient for you.
If you want a game bred dog, you've come to the right place. Do some digging, look at some threads, and ask for opinions on certain lines. If you can take the responsibility for two dogs, that's great. Get that second dog. If you can't, make the best of the dog you have now. Make him an ambassador for the breed, show people how pit bull-type dogs can be great dogs.

People get rid of dogs everyday because they do not meet their expectations, whether it be conformation, weightpull, hunting, etc. As long as you find a good home for it, I don't see the problem. Now it would be irresponsible to dump it or something like that...
If you have the time, money, space, etc. for two dogs that is great, but if you can only have one, then it needs to be what you want. If not the dog will suffer anyway. It will never get the love, attention and loyalty.
On a side note...as much as you loved Trouble, he can NEVER be replaced, so get that thought out of your head.
Good luck in whatever you decide to do.

I agree. 1st I would get him fixed. Then I would put an ad in the paper for a gotti bred blue I am pretty sure you will get some takers. But get him fixed first
