The dog in the first two pics is WAY TOO THIN. Where is the muscle and muscle definition?

The second dog is a couple of skipped meals away from looking like the first dog.

Crazyhorse you need to relook at the second dog basically nothing but muscle on that dog which you call a healthy worked fed dog.

    Good luck at the show

Wow here we go! it's always one.

  9. I think that Max looks good, but Miss Rage is a bit overdone. Could be the angle of the pics, but it looks like she is dry and was taken too low in weight.

  10. allways got to be one troll in the bunch!

It's not what you say it's how you say it. for some reason It didn't seem the same from Screamin. it sounded like a personal opinion insted of a smart ass response...... but maybe thats just me....

A lot of people over do their dogs. If a dog is too skinny, say it's too skinny. You do neither the dog nor the fancier any favors when you see a skinny dog & complement it.

From what I was told, you should NOT see any of the spine bones & you should only be able to see a hint of the ribs. You should not be able to count every rib bone nor should the ribs be sticking out like a bellows! Hip bones should not be visible either, which in Miss Rage they are not.

I am no expert, but in the first two pics Miss Rage does seem a bit dry & too drawn down. In those pics her fur looks a little dry & some of her spine is visible as are most of her ribs. Max looks great however & the last pic of Miss Rage looks great too, so her off appearance may have just been a result of the camera angle.

    JMHO ...

Nice girl! Its really hard to tell condition of some dogs by looking at a pic. And the "standard" is not a tell all for every dogs condition. Every dog does not shape up the same.

  15. I agree, but the last pic that she posted is older, and not a current picture of where that dog is at...it was posted about a month ago in this thread http://www.game-dog.com/forums/showthread.php?t=29055
. I would say that was closer to ideal there, but she continued to lose weight after that, and that was too much.

...the first few are more telling for today, and IMO she is dry and was taken too far down in weight...Max is near ideal though.

Shady, shoot me a pm if you wanna. I have a few ideas for yah. I hope this thread stays civil, threads like this can be very helpful. To those that do conditioning...know how tough it is. It is a never ending learning exp.

first dog could stand a couple pounds. ribs showing is no big deal. more than a couple of back bones showing and the dog is under. a pound or two of lean muscle mass and she will look exceptional. second dog looks nice. good luck..s.

  19. Second dog looks great...first dog could benifit from about a quarter cup of more feed for a week....just over the borderline in my opinion...but the second dogs looks fantastic. Bravo.

Dogs looking good but second looks best to me. It could also be the way the first is standing and showing herself. Good luck at the show.
