Tampa,FL -- A Brooksville dog owner says her 100 pound pit bull was attacked by a stray cat.

    The dog didn't lose.

Hernando County sheriff's deputies say it happened over the weekend when Kimberly Ridpath let her three dogs out of the house. Ridpath told deputies her pit bull cornered the cat after the feline acted aggressively towards her 10-month-old chihuahua puppy.

Ridpath managed to separate her pit bull from the cat.

However, according to the police report, "the stray cat jumped on the Pitbull's head and began scratching and biting the dog. The dog was able to remove the cat and again attempted to join his owner when the cat jumped on the dog's side and began scratching and biting."

The dog then killed the cat. Animal control officers are not sure why the cat acted so aggressively.

I had a cat jump in the back yard once and went across the chain space of one of my dogs. And ill tell you right now its best that you just dont try and get the dog off of the cat because i tryed and i got cut up from my elbows to my hands and was bleeding every where and couldnt pick nothing up with my hands for a couple of days. I wish i never would have tryed but hell the cat lived some how and the dog ended with alot of scratch marks to.

  3. Believe it or not but my grandmother owns a cat that will not back down from any dog, no matter the size. She's an outdoor cat and she'll attack at the very site of a dog.

My cat is completely stupid. She's the size of a mouse but will attack anything that comes in the yard and let me tell you- her little claws are sharp as a razor blade and she's a quick little rascal. I'm scared one day the wrong dog to mess with will come onto our property and she will be killed, but hardly ever do we hae stray dogs on our 'road'.

  5. I had a fatass (mabye 40lbs) stray cat punk one of my dogs in her own yard when she was just over a year old. That same cat came back later and left a nasty scar across the top of my dogs face. That was the turning point in the way that cat was treated that day. ;)
