What is their purpose going to be? Family dog, breeding, sports, etc? Just asking for a dog in a certain weight range only looks like you are wanting them to breed and sell, which is NOT condoned on this site. Also, there is no sales off this site either.

SO, if you are just looking for a companion but like the smaller bulldogs, you might want to ellaborate a little bit and fill us in.

Poncho dogs tend to be on the smaller side....25-35 lbs!

Im getting so sick and tired of this "where can i get a small pit". Its just as worse as somebody trying to get a dog with a big head or a blue mutt. Learn and live by the quote " A good dog is where you find it". Look for a dog that suits what you need in your program and go by that. Thats the only reason people should be buying dogs right now or breeding dogs. If you have something that isnt in your dog that you desire for then you get another dog and that has that and if the 2 dogs work out then breed to make up for what you dont have and keep the WHOLE litter.

Amen Bulldog. Even a love for smaller dogs, jeopardizes the breed by breeding for this trait. Sometimes it happens, and it's a beautiful thing. But breeding for size (large or small), is unethical to the APBT standards.

Just please people do selective breeding with your dogs and either keep them all or farm them out to people you trust. These dogs arent made to make a buck off they are bred to be companions not to put money in the bank. If you got 2 good dogs that work out breed them and get whatever size you want out of and dont complain. There will always be another show dog its same weight no matter what size.

I'm looking for a show/weight pull/family pet, I'm not looking to breed the dog. I just like the smaller dogs. they are easier to handle to me. I am not looking for anyone breeding just for the small size, but a well bred dog from good dogs that just happens to run small. trust me I am not a breeder and I'm not trying to be.

Mad props for this 143 on this one!! Cant say enough about having a solid program, the guts to stick with it and the responsibility to care for the animals lives that YOU (dogman or woman) decided to bring into the world.

I'm also in southeast Louisiana and I can promise you that you can find some great dogs even in that weight range. However, most of the people I know have to know you. No offense, but I suggest getting out and about and meeting people vs. just asking on the internet and then trying to buy there as well.

And I also agree with Bulldog and 14rock. While I personally like my dogs right around 40 lbs, I would never turn down an amazing 60 lber nor would I snub my nose at a 25 lber.

Also, you say it's easier for you to handle, but no offense if you can't handle the dogs as they are, maybe it's time to consider something else. Not trying to be rude. Hell, I know I can't handle a high-strung working Belgian Malinois even though I love and admire the breed/dogs, but I'll leave them to those who can handle them and love them as they are.

I agree with what your sayin. Good post but.... Think maybe you should have waited and found out why they wanted the smaller dogs before you went on about what your getting sick of. JMO.
