Nothing like being caught in the middle

I first want to say that I have always ben loyal to this site . I do consider this to be a true community. Things happen in a community that you as a member of the community dont agree with. As a member of the community I feel you have a right to speek up on sutch situations without fear of being banned. I as a member of this community feel that I must at least say that the banning of TDK for posting a Historical story has left a bad taste in my mouth. I dont agree with it . That being said This is Martys site and he dont have to answer to me or anybody elts. I do agree that the whole thread and the way it ended was detramental to the board and breed as a whole. I think the classy thing to do would to have the entire thread removed insted of just locked. I do not wish to add fuel to the fire however i did feel I must speek my feelings on the situation. I do enjoy being a member of this site and I hope the fact that I am not in agreence with the powers that be dosent lead to me being banned.

 

I do agree. I am not getting into the topic of banworthy as it is your site and you don't really need much of a reason to ban anyone. I do believe that since you have deemed it as banworthy and detramental to the breed that it should be removed. Not just that one post but the entire topic. Just because the original poster wasn't the owner of this dog doesn't give them the right to post someone else's wrong-doing online for the police to see. It is obvious that both are post 1976 so the thing to do would be to remove it all.

I'm confused on this one. I don't believe that TDK said anything in this thread that was running his mouth. People did decide to leave because you're ruling was abit one sided IMO. But i didn't see much sh*t talking goin on. Although i may have missed it. Not tryin to be a smart ass, i'd just like this clarified more. Thanks in advance.

Me personally I have not banned many people, I think 3 in total. What some of you guys do not know or see are the things that get sent to the Mod's PM boxes. Every member has history and when enough stuff has been said or deleted you can only warn someone so many times before further action is required.

What I am saying is basically there is alot that goes on behind the scenes that not all members get to see. Once a person has crossed a line and has shown they do not care about rules or the folks who were asked to enforce them then there is only one thing that can be done and that is to ban them.

I hope you understand that, none of us want to be ball breakers but you cannot deny that some people put way to much stuff out there that questions the integrity of the board and they themselves as a person. Some of these folks leave you scratching your head wondering who would be so unwise to post information like that?

I understand people get upset when a person they respect gets banned. It's happened to me too, I seen a few freinds go but after reading what they have written and thier blatant disregard for the site and the rules I do not question why they get booted because in majority of the cases they often times bring on themselves.

 

They can take away your dogs but only you can lose your integrity. Unfortunately, this behavior is not unique to this site.

 

I did see your posts and i did see the whole thread. I am just confused about one thing. Yes he did post something post 1976 that wasn't legal at the time, but so did the OP. The OP posted Bill's business and stated that it was in a time after the sport was made illegal, it clearly said that all of this happened in the 80's but no action was taken on that until TDK gave a little more insight into the story. I don't understand why it was ok for one person to post about illegal activity but not for another to? Not trying to harp on this subject i'm just thinking that i may have missed something going on here.

 

The OP posted a story written by someone else that had been in print many, many times.

The second poster was giving out first hand info of illegal activities post 1976. That is the difference.

 

I say if someone gets banned then all there threads started by them should be deleted. I mean they are the ones that are posting articles and such. So why should there post that they have spent time on stay on the site. Its like get rid of them but not there knowledge and let that stay on the site for everybody else to see. Get what im saying?

 

Exactly. That is my only qualm with this site, is the senseless banning of members (that actually post on and add to good topics) without reason at all, other than... " I didnt like the tone of his writing" or " Dont joke around" or " Don't talk about the mods.... they are the almighty and no one can question them"

If someone gets banned for breaking a rule... that is A-OK in my book, but when people start getting banned for little conflicts with a mod.... that is BS (in my opinion:p)

 

We all should know that we have consequences for all actions and they whether positive or negative, should be thought about prior before action. Everybody should understand completely with no problems.

 

So you're saying because a story has been posted somewhere else that it is ok to post here? Regardless of if it had been written somewhere or not it is still giving information on post 1976 dogfighting and should be treated the same way as first hand accounts of it. Even though the story wasn't from the OP, it is still depicting illegal activities. So that would mean that you can tell stories of dogs as long as you don't let people know that they are yours right?

 

No. But, if its a very widely known story thats been posted a million times that is different and will be treated differently than a person directly incriminating themselves.

And there are reasons for that. The biggie is, people directly relating things THEY'VE done can get them in trouble but also it can get other people on the forum wanting to show what "real deal dogmen" they are and then THOSE people start saying stuff they shouldn't. And the ones that aren't real deal dogmen, and that would be 99% of the forum, start talking about everything they've ever seen, read or heard about.

For those of you who dont know what the WHOLE story is, its really senseless to add fuel to the fire. Why question the man who breaks his back to keep a site for all of us to enjoy? GD has been a wealth of information for me and many others. If you dont like the way things are being run, there are plenty of other avenues to take. Have a good one. YIS, DJ.

Ahhh.... I could not make it half-way through your post without getting a headache from the lack of grammar, horrible spelling and extreme mis-punctuation.

But... Marty does have to watch his ass....which is why the rules need to be enforced to how they are written! Banning members for reasons other than breaking the rules gives off the impression of working from an ulterior motive:eek:
