Wasn't there talk on the two dogs meeting ?
No disrespect to Duke,but Rocky was very highly thought of by that kennel,which says a whole lot about the dog.
He met & good dog in Marvin,but i may be right in thinking that Rocky had the weight advantage.

Yes there was but Rocky's kennel pulled out (they had there reasons but I cant remember what these where). Rocky was bigger then Marvin. Shame Duke and Rocky didnt meet it would have been an interesting show.

i was speaking to a man that saw both gr ch duke & champion marvin, in his opinion marvin would not have gone 30 minutes with duke, he was not saying marvin was not a good one but he would not have been any match for a strong hard mouthed dog like duke.gr ch rocky had his handsful in a long one with marvin (about an hour and a half i think) so i would favour duke over rocky as i respect that mans opinion..

 

Like yourself,i'm only told good on Duke by those who saw him & i wouldn't argue on you or your friends opinion. If i remember right,his weights were up & down,so i would be a little curious though.
Someone very close to Marvin told me that he was a very good stafford & Rocky's team thought very highly of him also.
I hear what your saying with regards to respecting that mans opinion & i have to respect the ones i've spoken too.
I know Marvin's true weight was 29lb & Rocky i seem to recollect being low 30's. What was Duke's ideal weight ?
The weights don't add up to me,if the two were going to meet.

Anyone looking in,these dogs are a long time dead.........

 

duke was 33 but he won from that weight to 38lbs (his first).

All these opinions we all know what they say about opinions and i have heard a many a dogman say this dog would never last with this dog and it was the total opposite just sayin folks

 

there is so much talk about who the baddest bitch ever is, i would've liked for some of them to have met up QOH, Tornado, shady lady and the list goes on...
