BSL in Houston?????

    Hello all. Got a question for you. I am seriousily thinking of moving to Houston TX. I was wondering if anyone knew of any BSL there that would restrict me of bringing Hemi along? Please let me know. Thanks in Advance...Peace

    As it sits right now there is not. There was a move recently by harris county to get some B.S.L. passed however, so it may not be far off. We just gotta keep our eyes open and fight it down here. Asside from that, your biggest problem in Houston dog wise will be getting home owners insurance. Most of the major companies won't insure in harris county if you own a bully breed. Hope thats helpful.

    I was under the impression that there was a bill prohibiting BSL in the state of Texas. The laws are handled on an individual basis as it occurs per dog. I live about 90 miles north of houston in Bryan.

    I've know someone who lives near Port Author and they said that there is a community there where "pit bulls" are banned. I havent found it on any sites, but I dont see any reason for them to lie to me about it...

    I live in Houston and there is not any BSL here, but some neighborhoods restrict bully breeds and things of that nature. If you are buying property you should not have a problem. Renting can be a hassle. Where are you planning on moving?

    I am moving to Houston it has been confirmed. I will be living in North Houston near Conroe. It has been like pulling teeth trying to find somewhere to live where Hemi is allowed any suggestions??? No Dunlap I am working a Grand Opening!!!

    Sorry you are having problems. Its is hard to get a rental place with our dogs. Conroe is w/in 30minutes from me. My only advice is try to find an individual to rent from. Sorry I couldnt be of more help.
