This conversation is going fairly well over there...there is at least one mod (I think he's a mod???) who is very receptive to our points of view. Let's all be civil and professional please and not mess it up ;)

Yes they are having a good conversation... BUT it seems that they have a misconception that pit bull type dogs are huge imposing figures that have heads that can fit an old ladies head in it.

I read through all of the posts there, and it doesnt look like it's gonna go any further. They seem to be as hard headed as us "pit bull" owners, but some of them are too caught up in the hype* of the media and look at the true facts as our "personal" opinions :/. People just dont understand that the "pit bull" is a bunch of breeds lumped together as one....

Oh I agree with you 100000000%...all I meant was since at least one of them is being quite civil and understanding lets engage in such a way so that we come off as being completely professional; so at least at the end of the day we can't add to their misconceptions by being bullheaded and ill mannered :)

Exactly, and the statistic they gave does not do well for our breed(1979-1998 66 people killed by pit bulls) if you divide this by the common breeds that are lumped into this category(APBT, AB, SBT, AST, Ambully) you will get roughly 13 deaths by each breed. this is saying that all of the dogs in this statistic were pitbull type dogs( mixes not included), but many times even in the media today... a "pit bull" attack is reported only to find out that a mastiff type dog did it, or Sallies Lab did it when she thought it would be fun to pull its tail(the normal population would probably mistake a dogo argentino as a "pit bull" when in reality it is a mastiff type) now saying that they were all the main "pit bull" dogs each would kill 13 beating the rotweilers average(I'm not trying to make this sound like a competition)... BUT like dunlap said people can never be convinced because in their mind there are no APBT's, SBT's, or AB's there is only the "pit bull" and the population's mind is made up and despite the saying if it looks like a duck, talks like a duck, and acts like a duck it's a duck... the people say if it LOOKS like a "pit bull" it is a pitbull.
