Due to the present circumstances of the breed I think it would be very unwise to start one. Brain Baily was stopped in his transporting business merley transporting dogs and ending up being slapped with dog fighting charges.

Yup, I was about to say the same thing. His mom started a legal defense for him, FYI. But if they find scars on the dogs youre transporting, if they cross a BSL area where they are prohibited, if you cross state lines w/ the dogs. All kinds of 2-5 year reasons why its not a sharp idea. IMO.

  4. If you have your buisness license you wont be hassled with that... i have a freind that does it non stop and has been stopped but had a legitment buisness license...

Brain Baily did have all his business license's, to OP get out of it before you ever decide to start, its not worth the hassle.

What about transporting breeds other than APBTs?

Any other breed should be fine as the APBT is the only dog under fire right now ;)

My only advice is that you just don't do it, what can happen is just not worth it. As far as Bailey goes he had a legitimate federal transporter license and it hasn't helped out one damn bit. Those that are still doing it and haven't had any issue are just extremely lucky, all it takes is the wrong cop in the wrong place and it's all over.

that sux. its seems like its such a demand for this breed, all i wanna do is make a honest living for myself. i swear this breed is the most hated breed ever bred. i mean dont get me wrong i would deliver all breeds, even cats but this BSL crap and ignorant owners have gone too far. a man cant innocently deliver a DOG without purposely knowing the intent? if u ask to use my service and u pay me and i do what u've asked, wuts the fn crime. they treating it like you delivering drugs.

Sry all, i have to fight for what i luv, these dogs/this breed is worth it. i'm gonna do it! i ask again, duz anybody have any info on starting a PET transport business.

i cant say u all didnt warn me.

Here's a link about what happened to Brian Bailey:

Think it over very carefully. I would not start a transport due to the hatred of the public and the press for the pit bull breed.

And any dogs you are transporting will be taken and killed, no matter if they are just pups. None of those dogs with Bailey were returned to their owners, not even the puppies.

    It's just not worth it.

lol, if you are going to do it do not use sporting dog transport. As soon as you advertise it in some way your busted.

yeah i can c wut ur saying. although 'sporting dogs' are really hunting dogs, like setters, retrievers, spaniels, etc. all of which i own or have owned and will be transporting also. u shud c my beagles, they run rabbits like uv never seen. those are sporting dogs but i c wut u mean. do u have an idea wut the cost of a "finished" hunting dog is? that game is serious, but our breed has just been pi*sed on.

    good advice sa. thanx.

Put a picture of a Golden on the outside of the van and carry another dog, not a pit, like a pug or collie, as your traveling companion. Get all your licenses and dont haul anything but clean dogs. No scars. Get a nice innocuous name too. Good luck. Some ladies are doing it, they charge alot, but only carry about 5 dogs at a time in very large kennels. Girls dont look like dogfighters. Try not dressing like one either. Most of us look like they should have thrown away the keys a long time ago. LOL.
