Amen but more then talk is needed.

People need to get involved in clubs to help raise money to fight BSL.

    How?
There is a yahoo group who will research your state laws and help write a Bill banning BSL from your state.
Next you need to contact every club in your state which has had BSL passed against their breed some where in the U.S. The yahoo group has the list.

My last count a couple of years ago was over 52 different breeds from lap dogs to Labs. EVERY kind.

It doesn't matter which registry the club is with because the registry isn't going to be the one fighting the BSL in your state. Individual people will be.
You need to ban together in numbers.

Next have all the clubs have a convention some where in your state and have a representative from each club attend.

Have the yahoo Bill passed around by these clubs with starting a petition to get signatures for the bill.

The different breed clubs can help donate to hire a lobbying firm to help get the bill passed.
Often this will run between $12,000 to as high as $20,000 on average.

Never be afraid to ask or you will never learn.

But if you need to ask whether or not you should breed your dogs, then you shouldn't breed them, because you don't know why you are breeding them.
Or for what you are trying to achieve for the breed in what you end up producing.

Look at all these clowns out there breeding 75+ lbs. yardshitters that couldn't stay 20 mins the [] with a traditional APBT!
The original APBT standard is suppose to be one of the the greatest canine athletes ever.

So the thought big is better, only the BS they are trying sell because the only thing better is the smell of the BS because that is the only thing that is stronger!! NOT the heart!!!

BTW if a breeder breeds dogs with AST in them to another dog which doesn't have AST in them and has been traditional APBT bred, then you are creating MUTTS because is what you get when you breed two different breeds and the AST and the APBT are two different breeds...

My apologies then. From the wording in your post I thought it was you.:o

Please try to understand that we are very passionate about the breed. It is a rare thing for anyone here to encourage breeding. We see, all to often, the trouble that indiscriminate breeding has caused the APBT.

Stick around :) , this forum is full of knowledgeable and experienced people. It's a great place to learn!

no disrespect but, there are enough crap dogs out there that shouldnt be bred and are by people who shouldnt breed dogs, if you dont have a specific goal in mind with the breeding then what are you trying to accomplish, money? i dont post on here alot but i am always reading on the board, if i where you i would take the advice of the post above and go get some real pitbull books off the computer , not that petsmart pitbull books. got to amazin.com and check em out. good luck

This is good advice, just take your time and do your research before breeding and getting more dogs. I know people who have had dogs for years from good game lines and havent bred yet because??? why????
They just dont want to unless its the right thing to do for the breed and it preserves the original reason for the game bred APBT. When you should breed youll know it.
