poki/gator...

hey i was wondering if anyone can give me info on the line of a poki, some say its from hawaii... and im not too sure! if anyone had info on the line pls. feel free to reply. thanks!

 

Never heard of it.

"Gator" is probably the number one fake bloodline thrown on a dog when being sold to someone with no knowledge of a pedigree. There were a few dogs named Gator, and a few named Alligator. 95% percent of the time however, it's idiots name-dropping to sell dogs or sound like they know something.

Ask for a pedigree.

Yeah thats a good one, and I hear it all the time, ignorant people saying stuff like " oh the best pit is a "gator mouth" or "red chinese" or "blue chinaman", I laugh but gave up many years ago on asking this simple question, what gator, whos chinaman? ask some simple ?s like why is your dog blue? or what are his pedigree statistics? simple and to the point ?s like that and when they look at you dumb and look like theyre thinking "theres more than one?" or they have no clue you know they dont know what theyre talking about. Good advice ABK easy ?s can stop any wannabe.

 

I haven't heard about the Blue Chinaman or Red Chinese yet, but I have heard about how awesome those Gator Mouths are. Gator Mouth seems to be a pretty common "bloodline." :rolleyes:

I was talking w/ a kid at school just yesterday about dogs. He said he had a German Shepherd, but began talking about his cousin's pit bulls. Curious, I asked what kind bloodlines his cousin ran. He said "Well, he's got some tiger stripes & some rednose & some bluenose, but that's about it." I told him I had Eli/Zebo dogs & he looked at me like I stepped off the moon.

I didn't say anything else. lol.

There are LOTS of dogs named Gator, Alligator or some variant thereof.

The problem is, when you ask these folks who brag so heartily on their "Gator bloodline" dogs, they rarely know which Gator their dog is bred off of & hardly ever can produce a pedigree.

In fact, I myself have yet to meet someone w/ "Gator bloodline" dogs who DID know which Gator their dog was bred off of & they couldn't even produce papers, let alone a pedigree.

Its funny to me. Not to long ago I had someone telling me about their buddys dog. When I ask the bloodlines he told me the dogs was a Jeep-Cherokee dog. I told him I heard they were curs.
