What a Zebo dog should really look like (pic heavy)

To be honest, I got it off some site of old dog pics. The caption read "Old Battling Rip." That's also where I found the pic of King Elvis I. If you go to myspace web page, you will see a complete section of old dog photos that most of which came from the same site.

 

reddog: I'm glad to see you found a short, squat dog that could work. I haven't seen a one. And it wasn't b/c they lacked heart, but it was b/c they lacked physical ability. But as they say, there are exceptions to every rule & I guess you found that exception! :p

That's cool. I've actually had it a good while, back when I made a post asking who a man and his dog were. That was 11/ 6/ 07. Turned out to be Clifford Ormsby and Champer Boy II. So you don't know who Old battling Rip might be?

 

I'm sorry I've never heard of him. I have heard of a dog called Lancaster's Rip though.

 

I had a pure Lonzo dog right from Mr Arrington and it was quite short legged and roach backed, so some descriptions cant be painted with such a wide brush IMO, some dogs of the same very closely bred lines have very different traits when it comes to morphology. Not saying Lonzo dogs are any good rep of Zebo that is.

 

I agree, which is one of the reasons i believe zebo was off eli. if zebo would have come from lonzos dogs dont you think his dogs from then on would have been bred heavy on zebo, one of the greatest ever. but instead they are bred heavy on vindicator, who was a good dog but not zebos caliber. they are bred heavy on vindy because he is really from that family.

and i think it was ABK- you said zebo looks nothing like an eli dog, maybe not like most but when i look at zebo i see a copy of skull.

 

I myself don't see Skull (or any Eli dog) in any way, shape or form in him. I myself see a dog who is the spitting image of Lonzo's Andy.

There will always be the Eli rumour out there simply b/c most folks aren't versed on simple coat color genetics.

i have always like the lonzo/eli/nigertoby stuff also lonzo/carver and just got a new bitch lonzo 50 %and the botom is yellow jeep i think if u cross this stuff just the right way with a line known for longer wind and deeper gameness and great fininshing abiltys u are then doing well not saying some them pure one cant fool ya either they have low % but when u get a good one watch out :cool:

 

I dissagree with the low % part, cull and breed right and you will have the same % or better staying with a pure line rather than outcrosses or lose linebreedings %'s that way will be up and down to much, not stable "just my opinioun"........

well i think the lonzo stuff is real tight and u get better dogs when crossed right sue u can take it pure but i will tell u its a long road

 

No way to know... we know the only the "talking" about Zebo being an Eli's Jr. half brother... but we don't know certainly... for sure, many people have doubts about this, me personally. We don't know from the hell were that black killer machine came... but he was one of the bests performance dogs ever... this we are certain.

i belive zebo was bred the way his pedigree says but i also it dont matter most got it in the forth it just mastters up colse

 

lonzo's danger sure he do looked like the old zebo stuff imo

Zebo was a mirror image of his sire Andy! And he's shaped exactly like Vindicator and Rosie minus the color difference! They got the red color from the OFRN in their pedigree. Now way he's an Eli dog. This is simply wishfull thinking. It's easy for the oldtimers to say Zebo was sired by Eli because Eli was a better bred dog. Zebo is a mainly a Dibo/Colby/OFRN bred dog with some AmStaff through the X-Pert dogs. So basically he was considered a scatterbred dog. GrCh Zebo ROM is bred as his pedigree says he's bred!
