Gr Ch Needham's Hannibal

Does anyone have some info on this dog other than the ped? Why isn't he discussed? I first noticed him in one of Stratton's books, but there wasn't much, if anything said about him to my recollections. Here is his ped:

Good looking dog, a buddy of mine is learning peds and found Hannibal way back in one of his dogs, so I figured I would ask for him. There has to be something out there, especially being a 7xW.

 

I've never heard of him, either, but he is one handsome dog!

 

I don't know much about him. Only read about him and I there's a handsome picture of him in Mr. Louis Colby's book.

 

very goodlooking dog, kinda looks like a bitch zoe i used to have. she was a fireball, crazy from the time she was 3 months old. i miss that dog

 

Just found this website. I grew up with Hannibal. Anything you want to know just ask. Greatest dog I ever knew.

well,go ahead and tell me some stories about hannibal.what are some things hannibal did that made him the greatest dog you ever knew?

 

back in those days, the dogs were regional and certainly not known all over the world like nowadays. now, if someone farts in so carolina, everyone on the west coast smells it due in large part to the internet. not only that, but needham wasn't someone seeking everybody's attention like so many are that have the dogs these days. hannibal was a terrific dog alright, but he wasn't what i would call a terrific producer % wise. heinzl with a neblett out, now having said that some stuff came down from him that was EXTREMELY good.

I had the privilege of being there the day Hannibal was born. I watched him grow into the fine dog he was. I watched this totally game dog ignore puppies that wanted at him, because he was never a bully. I was there for the contests he competed in, and watched him do his job with utter confidence and great enthusiasm. Old dog is correct, is was VERY regional. And we kept very much to our own groups. I had the honor of knowing many of the great old timers. It was a gentlemans sport then. Not the outrage it has become in many areas. Also correct, he did not throw alot % wise. But Hannibal himself was phenominal.

 

treefrog, do i know you as grip? hannibal may very well have been one of the most talented dogs on the planet.... i fed this fearless little dog and he passed at a friend of mine's place of old age. a bit shy... but a good little dog.

Old Dog, I don't know if we knew one another or not. Needham was my maiden name. I knew Hannibal because we grew up together. I know where he died. He died at home on the mountain. Do I know You?????

 

i was a friend of your dad and mom's. i brought this dog over to breed to moroni when your family lived on the mountain.

It's been a while since I've posted, but I'd like to say thanks to you guys for giving some info. Do either of you guys have some good stories about Hannibal?
