Here are some updated Savage pics from today. (Savage is also known as "Ripken" as I'm a HUGE Cal Ripken fan & sometimes people don't understand APBT + Savage ;) )

  2. He's looking good miakoda. Are you planning on hog hunting with him, or is he more of a house dog?

He will definitely be a working dog. And he's only in the house when passing through or on a leash........he's a terror!

  8. Im glad that I am not the only one with a dog that will not be a house dog. No matter how hard I try, my pup (7 mos. now) will not calm down inside...lol.

    mia & james -

both of your dogs look good. happy & healthy.

mia - does savage do OK w/ a prong collar? i tried one w/ aubrey at about 9 months old, and all hell broke loose...never seen her fight a leash before, so i got her a wider 2 inch stillwater collar to alleviate the choking factor when she pulls while walking.

screamineagle, he is totally an outside dog. He loves to rompy and play and tear stuff of up. Unfortunately, my house is too cluttered at the moment with baby toys and other stuff so he likes to do the same inside........which is a big no-no.

James, Savage weighed in at 29.8 lbs about a week ago when I went to grab a bordatella vaccine. He's got quite a bit of "chunkiness" to him as I haven't done a thing with him other than short walks and some games of fetch in the backyard. He's a short little booger though. :)

And kergin, he did real well with the prong collar. The only problem I have with him on a leash in the first 5 minutes or so of our walk. After that he does great except when we see another dog or cat as he then does his best to go after them. I just began using the prong 2 weeks ago to help as right now I've got a "health situation" that I need to dogs on their best behavior for especially when out for walks.
