    i was wonderin what CH and GrCH means and how do dogs get it im new here and trying to get into the breed i was also wondering if i had the ukc number and name of my dogs parents would i be able to see their pedigree's? also is there a time limit to register your dog from when u bought it from the breeder?

  2. Well first CH mean Champion, and GRCH means Grand Champion...usually this for show conformation titles....
    There is no time linit that I am aware of, but the parents have to registered in order for you to register your dog through them....
    I mean I am not sure how well 5 years down the road will go ever, but you understand what I mean I hope!

    yee the parents are registered i got the little ukc registration card with both their info on just gotta send it in

  4. Post the names and reg numbers of the parents, and chances are someone cen help you out. Those pedigrees would have to have been entered in the various web databases, but give it a shot.

    got another question for you guys what does ROM mean or POR

  7. EDOGZ818

    EDOGZ818 Big Dog

    R.O.M. = Register of Merit
    P.O.R. = Producer of Record

    ROM means the dog has produced 3 or more champions
    POR means the dog hasn't met ROM requirements, but has produced several winners. IE: 1xw,2xw, etc...

    Not sure if these terms apply to all type of champions. (IE: CONFORMATION, PULLING)

  8. I just wanted to add that you may also see "PR" on a pedigree. People often confuse this with POR, but it actually means Purple Ribbon. For UKC registered dogs a Purple Ribbon dog simply has seven or more generations registered with that resistry.

    There is also a ROM list at http://www.gamedogs.com/rom_list.htm
