My living nightmare....Miakoda's dead......

Damn, Mia...that's one of the saddest, most infuriating things I've ever read. I am so very sorry. Had I been there, I believe I would have taken the shotgun away from that son-of-a-bitch and beat him to death with it...after I emptied the magazine into his dog.

Hang in there, girl. Things have got to get better for you.

That is absolutely terrible what happened and I can't even believe what that idiot did. I don't understand how a person can be so concerned about his own dog's safety when it is killing another dog and attacking a human, all unprovoked. If you ask me they both need to be put down!

I usually don't write letters but if someone gives me the info you can bet I'll be typing my fingers off about this.

 

It probably has very little to do with concern for his dog.Just some ass clown who saw a pit bull and decided it was acceptable to do what he did because the way these dogs are portrayed.Sadly many people have decided that these wonderfull animals are nothing more than savage monsters who deserve to be treated as such.

I am so sorry Mia, I have no idea where to begin. The pain you are experiencing is nothing I would wish upon anyone. If you can get through this you will become much stronger and my thoughts are with you. No one should have to deal with what you did. Do not beat yourself up over this either, you did right by protecting your son first.

I would write or make a call to your local news station & paper telling of your APBT's heroic deed and how she was rewarded with death by the hands of an asshole.

Chin up girl, you are a great person and do not ever take away what you do and have done for these dogs, I know throwing in the towel seems easy but you need to use this and make your fights as game as the dogs you raise.

 

Firstly, let me say I am so sorry for your loss. We are at odds on certain issues, but right now as I read your post I felt tears welling in my eyes. RIP Miakoda & may you be resting at the feet of our Lord.

Secondly, I agree w/ previous posters - report this to the media immedately!!!! Tell them about how a 100 lb Lab attacked you & your baby & how it was only the acts of a heroic pit bull who saved you! Miakoda is a hero & needs to be recognized as such!

And of course supply witness names to this so they can be contacted to verify your story.

Thirdly, start carrying a pistol w/ you on walks. I have. That way if some jerk tries to take my dog or some mutt jumps them, I can deal w/ the issue.

I am so sorry for your loss but I am glad people like you own this breed. In the blink of an eye your whole life can change but it ultimately it is out of your control. I know you will use this story in a positive way and just maybe it can stop some of the ignorance about this breed. Not to mention the idoit who did this right in front of everyone, he needs to pay for what he did. I hope he gets the max penalty for his actions. This was indeed the saddest post I ever read on this site and it also was one of the most frustrating to read because I am sure we all wish we were there with you so we could have helped with the situation. Death isn't fun to deal with wether it be your beloved pet or a person. Let's be thankful that your child is OK and your bites aren't worse than they are. Miakoda is a hero, yes she is!!!!!! She was fortunate and privilaged to have you as an owner I am sure and clearly didn't mind dieing for you. God bless you in these hard times!

i am so sorry to hear this. it is a cruel and unfair world out here, and we, the ones with the dogs that are worth a damn, that will put their heart and sould into anything they do, and protect us with their lives when it is time, we are the ones getting smashed the hardest it seems. i have you in my prayers. i hope the bastard pays!

Regardless.....the dog sunk it's teeth into her. The dog will bite again!
10 day qaurinteen is the law here as well.....however if that dog showed any signs of dog agression or or human agression in that run....you can bet that I would be confrenceing with the AC manager/director.

If that dog is not up to date on it's vaccines, you can bet that the head of that animal will be removed and tissue samples would be submitted to Austin.

Doing what I do for a living, I dont take bites lightly.
