    Anyone ever thought about how the game could be modified in order to legalize it or keep it from getting banned where it is currently legal?

    Prior to dogfighting becoming illegal in the states is anyone aware of any efforts made in order to persuade the government not to ban it? Bit like what the ufc did, where it brought in more rules making mma safer and thus winning approval of the various athletic commissions.

  2. that would never happen as long as PETA and SPCA bastards are around.

    and dogfighting is not as much as a treath , but it's often seen as a cover for drugs and such , and maybe they are afraid of that..and sure , as long as peta as spca are arround , that will never happen.

    I think they would allow human cloning before they legalize dogfighting.

    I agree. It will never happen. Its funny though, they will let people beat each other half to death but wont allow dog fights. Hmmmm.

  6. I will tell you that: This people who banned dogfighting are not specialists, they don't know nothing about dogfighting and less about the breed. They banned it but never saw a pit in their lives, never got their face in a good dog and never got their face in a professional pit.
    I'm sick of this, who never experienced something CANNOT give your stupid oppinions... don't matter the topic.
    I'm sick of "experts" that are based only in "internet craps" and books...

    They tell to you and tell to you about "animal rights", but the only thing they do when arrest pit dogs is kill them. Is it right? NO!
    They are destroing a breed and even can see this.

    List, I'm NOT saying if dogfighting is right or wrong. It do not conserve me. I'm saying that only real specialists can give a real oppinion.
    It is just an oppinion from someone who doesn't live in the USA.

    My heart jumped out of my chest when I saw the headline lol.

    =======================

    Anywho.

    In my opinion Dog Fighting can never be leaglized because people's prespective of the American Pit Bull Terrier is not the same as ours in this community. Secondly The media blowing up of dog fighting cases has concreated peoples view of the sport and has narrowed there vesion to the so called street level fighting. Thirdly We have allot of groups that are trying to "help" (ha ! yeah right) and "Abolish" animal suffering and In the eyes of Uneducated People who has never seen the treatment and love a real dogman gives to his yard it is a "barbaric" "blood sport". Another thing Dog fighting will never become legal because of the outright opposition of the general public and politicans need there votes and support from the general public which is a farrrr greater majority than dogmen and women. Lastly dog fighting can never be legal because within our own walls of the commnutiy there are people who are opposed greatly to the sport being brain washed themselves.

    =========

    In my opinion anyone that wishes to partake in the sport (for what ever reason that maybe) should relocate to a country where it is legal. Although that will never be america

    nice post!
    and i agree, probably will never happen again....
    ironic tho, that since it's been deemed against the law, SO many "pit bull" problems have arised.....:confused: .....

  9. Low prices and no real breeding focus = low quality = problems.

    I think that when [] be definatelly banned from the world, real bulldogs will be just a memory... sad but truth...

    I prefer the breed insticted than become all bullies and craps!

    I would say when the fighting was made illegal all the dogmen that had dog heavy yards released them to the general public. Seeing how some dogmen were making a profit from selling dogs they no longer had the clientel so in order to continue to make money they starting selling to anyone who wanted a dog.

    Not sure how true that is but listening to some dogmen most would only sell to those in the sport and not to the John Q public.

  11. The job of the breeder is produce good quality dogs. What the owner will do with his dog it's his problem. Owners and dog sellers should be prohibited to bred bulldogs. This is why breeders exist.

    Of course this is impossible to happen in real life... unfortunatelly...

    I don't think in the public's eye that there is any redeeming value to dog-fighting. Most people are not going to be able to get past the brutality of what goes on in the pit itself, and telling them that it needs to be done to preserve the breed is not going to convince people who could care less if these dogs stick around. You're never going to get enough people behind the sport to make even a dent in the issue. Matching is just one of those things that just looks bad -- no matter how professional it is -- and no PR campaign is powerful enough at this point to change that.

    Frankly, look how much is illegal nowadays. So many minute "dangers" are being banned -- fireworks, Pit Bulls, open fires, guns, reptiles, etc -- but yet they can put things in our food which only serve to give us cancer. I would say we should focus on preserving what little rights we have left, rather than worrying about something that has been illegal for some time.

    Sad to say,but the only way I see them letting dog fighting become legal,is to take out all their teeth,and let them gum each other,or put muzzles on and let them push each other across a line or something.If was to ever become legal you can believe that it will be so watered down,that it will make you to sick to watch.

    There is no legal solutions, nor will there ever be. People can say what they want about muzzles, sanctions, etc....it doesnt matter.

    Some people cannot understand the concept that animals love to work, and have a job. Especially ones they've been bred for hundreds of years to do. Can't understand why greyhounds race, coon hounds tree, and bulldogs fight. Any form of anything with an animal, will be made illegal, until pet ownership itself is illegal. This should be no suprise, PETA makes no reservations that this is their ultimate goal-eradication of pet ownership entirely.

    With all the bs going around, we cannot leave this thread up. If you feel so strongly about it, write your Senator, and expect a visit the next week from AC with garbage bags and needles. Has everyone really ignored the signs of what is to come, and so naieve to believe this is a possibility? Think about what you post...this is a public forum, and these are unfriendly times.
