Im not gonna go inot much detail bit I know a thing or 2 about federal laws and cases from personal experience ( not dog related ) . If the federal goverment is pushing forward with charges you can bet that they have really good information and evidence to place Michael Vicks hand in the cookie jar otherwise they would not have pushed forward with the indictment.

You can say that i'm pre-judging him , maybe so , but giving his track record works against him. The people he hangs out with , his crazy brother shooting guns off on the street , his cousin getting busted on drug charges and his off field attitude shows he is not a great character. Not to mention its his property that all this alleged activity is taking place. Every heard guilt by association ? Its true. When this is all said and done you can bet Michael Vick will be convicted on one charge or another.

  3. Most comments I find ammusing, I posted a month ago about this whole thing titled NFL idiots... And all I got as a response was, He's not proven guilty yet.. Yeah funny thing is now he is. My point is these are the kind of people who give the media and Fucking peta a bigger mouth...

  4. hey girl you know i luv u to death but i have to disagree with ya on this one. you didn't hear anybody saying they busted F.B. cuz he was white. :p they find out you're doing this shit and they will try to get ya. it's that simple IMO.

You get a phone call from an associate that respects your opinion, during the conversation the associate asks you what he should do with a cur. You tell him the ONLY answer that is right, which is to eliminate it. BOOOM!! Now you have done the same thing they are blaming Vick for. You are now a low life ignorant gutter trash moron or whatever else people on here are calling him.<!-- / message --><!-- sig -->

And you are right...I was responding to another member who felt race had a lot to do with it- Perhaps I minced my words some-
I don't feel it has a lot to do with why he was busted (like I said- had nutrisystem Dan Marino gotten busted it would have been big as well) but I feel that now he is busted race may enhance the hype some for some folks who unjustly profile. "Those Thuggish pit bull owners"...

Anyhoo- read my post again, maybe it will be a little clearer now with proper instructions :p

I was referring more to the initial investigation. Authorities were calling Vick a dogfighter as soon as they found the dogs on the property along with treadmills, a break stick, and a *ahem* "rape rack." All this testimony from David Tant and the others came later.

  8. lol i got ya!:p

That's crazy guilt by association......Suppose that is why the federal goverment is allowed to trample upon whom ever for whatever. An I'm no Mike Vick fan!

Didn't notice that you were reffering to the original bust a couple months back ( my bad ). And yea it is a shame that having treadmills, spring poles and flirt poles are automatically branding us all dog fighters. My 3-4 month old Jack Russell is all over the spring pole, he loves it. I guess I must be fighting in the toy dogs now huh ? Thats what the media will think now .

I argue with my sister over this stuff all the time, her being AC for the city its her job to spot this stuff and make cases against those who are truely engaging in illegal activities. She knows my dogs and loves them and she also knows I would never put them in harms way. My sister doesn't bust balls when she comes across a home that has such paraphenilia unless other wise warrented. Unfortunately I was asked to take down my spring pole down til all this steam blows over. As much as it kills me to take my yard apart I will for not to have my sister get complanits from neighbors and put her in a bad situation.

My sister is arranging a meeting for me with the head of the state animal control center so I can verbalize my opinion on conditioning dogs for the show ring and for the Weight pull competition. We should all be allowed to work our dogs without fear of being branded dog fighters.

Its the sad truth, Section 371. Conspiracy to commit offense or to defraud United States

If two or more persons conspire either to commit any offense against the United States, or to defraud the United States, or any agency thereof in any manner or for any purpose, and one or more of such persons do any act to effect the object of the conspiracy, each shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than five years, or both. If, however, the offense, the commission of which is the object of the conspiracy, is a misdemeanor only, the punishment for such conspiracy shall not exceed the maximum punishment provided for such misdemeanor.</PRE>

    Can you say guilty ?</PRE>

imho....This bust goes much farther than simply a "thuggish celebrity" or even back alley dog fighting. The feds were looking for the big bust and to them they got it....I don't mean big as in terms of celebrity or notoriety...I mean in terms of trying to squash dog-fighting across state lines. Michael Vick just happened to be the individual we all know that they allege is involved.

Now, the public and media has branded all pit bull owners as thugs and ruffians because well, hey if a superstar does it and knows its illegal then joe schmoe must also. Sucks for everyone including the dogs.

This whole chain of events is unnerving to me

Its too late, the damage has been done regardless of wether he is guilty or not guilty. I personally hope he does go to jail especially if its true about him slamming a dog to the ground and killing it. I don't agree with that mthod of culling , or any kind of culling for that matter. I would love nothing more than to see someone cull Michael Vick the next time he loses a game.

Sorry, just my take on things, i know some disagree and say culling is what makes the breed stronger but I just don't see why not ever breeding the dog wouldn't be as effective.

that route, imo, would only work if you are going to keep the pups you decide to cull, and chosse to fix them all.
unfortunately, as is apparent but the VERY high # of "pit bulls" across the nation, this is not happening... :(

The dogs who are bred MADE IT. They dont need to be culled because they've been bred for a reason. That doesnt mean the offspring are all going to make it. Dont breed curs. Thats what preserves the breed. And you're right...I dont agree. Just MHO ;)

That being said, if the game WAS legal today, how many pups you guys think would get culled per litter, just on an average?
