vick's indictment interesting

This is the federal government big bucks are not going to help.They have a 95% conviction rate and probally more then enough snitches to have vick serve time in prison unless he snitches himself. I just hope the man knew how to invest his money while he had it because his career is over imo.

 

Understood and I see where you are coming from...but here's my very valid opinion on the subject: the dumb dick got himself in a situation he couldn't control -helloooo high profile quarterback not keeping his business tight, media hayday anyone?- and Vick's little SNAFU is exactly what NOBODY here needs who loves the breed, regardless of how dirty their hands are.

 

i specifically asked that you don't try to start shit with other members and just post your point of view on the vick subject. why is that so fvcking hard? thanks to everyone who has spoken so far.

 

Why is he a dumb dick because his cousin got busted selling pot and gave that adress as his residence so the warrant got served there. Everybody sits around saying how vick is this and that and i'm sure no one knows him personally on here.I don't know him either but i'm not going to sit here and run his name into the ground because of how he cullled his dogs. I might not agree with the ways but i have heard and seen worse.Take vick's name out of that indictment and put a reputable dog-man that people have heard nothing but good things about in the indictment. Results same thing a bunch of people lookin from the outside in calling him every name in the book and saying how he is ruining the breed.

 

How many REAL dogmen/women end up in the papers for something like this? Not too many because they know what they are doing.

 

Okay- just to clarify- I haven't mentioned a word about how he culled his dogs. He is an idiot (IMO- no I don't know him personally nor do I care to) because he is a high profile figure -with high media interest- getting himself in trouble. Any near celeb getting themselves involved (or allowing their residence to become involved) to that degree is being naive and sloppy with the breed.

 

i highly doubt that would be the case. i can't speak for anyone else but i'm not gonna bash any reputable dogman. some goofass clown who has a bunch of money that thought he could just waltz into the sport and be the king shit and ends up with nothing but negative press for our breed.....i don't call that a reputable dogman. a reputable dogman wouldn't have done the stupid shit these clowns did. sorry but that don't fly in my book.

How many Real dogmen/women you know? Because in the last few years a good number of Real dogman have been busted but they are not superstar athletes.

He is not too swift by the very nature he was associated with the game in any shape or form. He violated the golden rule to "lay low" for the sake of the game and for the sake of the breed. I make no judgement on weather he is guilty or not, don't know, but he gets major points for being down right stupid and arrogant for not recognizing he was a natural TARGET to begin with because of his fame. Did he think he was so smart and bullet proof the press would just leave him alone, if he did he had his head up his ass. It was not a matter if the press or any other dogger of celeberties WOULD find out about his association with the game - it was a matter of WHEN. Well WHEN is here, now bend over and take your medicine....but don't turn this into a good dogger/bad dogger, pro-culling/anti-culling, poor Vick/dumb Vick argument. He set himself up to be a victom by even getting onto the game with his celebrity, and he has dealt us all a blow because of it. He should of stayed away from this world if he really gave a rats ass about these dogs or this breed.....for heavens sakes he is a FOOTBALL STAR, yeh like lets not be all up in his grill as the media..

 

What did he do that was stupid besides being caught because of his dumb ass cousin. Because you did'nt like the way he culled his dogs.I'm sure a lot of reputable dogmen have done it the same way if not worse. By the way he has been in this way before he came into money.

 

CRG what i was referring to as real dogmen/women is people who have been in the game for 3/4 of their lives and never had a lick of trouble. of course anybody that does illegal stuff will always have the chance of being arrested. that there is no doubt. it seems as though the wreckless approach this goof took toward doing what he is accused of was just off the wall dumb. i mean come on......let's build a million dollar (or whatever) house and set up a dog fighting ring in the back yard! come on! how stupid does it get!!!! with his money he could have made security the number one priority, but instead was a wreckless fool. that is why he is in the shit pot his is in IMO.

Okay -check it out- there is a local story on the news RIGHT NOW (Tallahassee, FL WALB) about "the local dogfighting problem". Who is responsible for this piece being on tonight? Mr. Superstar himself. So yes, a lot of everyday people are being arrested and the media loves "dogfighting" reports, but involving yourself or your property to ANY degree as a celebrity is just plain ignorant.

 

I agree to a point but to me this topic would not even be here to discuss if his cousin did not get busted with pot. His security was good at that house but his cousin must have been high at the time to give that address for the warrant instead of letting them use the one on his liscense.

yeah, well in regaurd to this post, i was recently watching the news and they were talking about georgia dog fighting laws. they stated that in the state of georgia (which is considered the dog fighting haven) it is all legal, attending a dog fight, ownig and training a dog for this prupose, and owning the parafinalia of dog fighting. it is just illegal to actually put your dog into a fight, and in order to even be convicted, they must see the dog fight in progress. i was not aware of this at all. so i got online and looked up some info on it, and it turns out that it is true. crazy. and now they are trying to pass everything consisting of dog fighting illegal in Ga. they think this mike vick will help them FINALLY pass the bill, which has been thrown into office time and time again, and has yet to be passed. it is said that "in order to pass this, we would have to make hunting illegal, b/c hunting dogs are ran on treadmills, usedon catmills to build prey drive, etc, etc." so, if this is passed, alot of the owners of hunting dogs will be pissed, i would beleive, but maybe it will bring more people together to fight BSL. what's everyone's opinion?

 

CRG I don't know if Vick is guilty or innocent of the charges against him...don't care, they were his dogs and as someone said he can do what he wants. But don't you find it hard to defend his actions? If I were a celebrity and was involved with something I felt passionately about and I knew my fame could do some real harm to that passion, I would steer clear. I find it difficult to see his committment to the breed with his behavior.....my take on him was there was another agenda, if so shame on him for all of us!
