Who was the best Bullyson dog?

At the time Holt's Jeremiah, and Hudson's Tex were the hot ticket. And no one was talking about where Honeybunch came from, they just wanted some.

 

I have always thought that Honey came from Ed Chrenshaws dogs i don't think Ironhead Leo Kinard said of Ironhead he wasn't worth feedin.

 

Midnite Cowboy was a Ch not GrCh.. He along with Honeybunch are two of best all around dogs off Bullyson.. I think Jeremiah was the best performer and HB best producer

 

I saw the Cowboy dog at Baker Davis's house he was not a very impressive looking dog. We used his blood to cross with our Bolio blood it clicked good but for some reason the Eli jr blood did better.

 

bullyson is an outcross/ scatterbred strain that has performed well. Works well with tight blood but there are better blood that brings ability/mouth. It depends what you ran and where you hunted. JMO

 

Most of my dogs are down from Eli Jr,but I like the Bloody Sunday.BullySon I have some though Charlie and his sons Ace an Honey.

bullyson/missy or bullyson/baby is what the best dogs came out of. too many to narrow it down to just one.

 

bullyson was taken from a dentist's widow who couldnt handle his antics after her husband died. So the ped is open to question. BH was a dogman (credit to him) not a breeder. He bred some off winning dogs but also beg/borrowed/steal dogs for the box.

Folks tend to put dogmen on a pedestal.......what is not in dispute is bullyson's record or benny bobs. But Robert, boxcar,stomper peds.....:rolleyes:

bullyson was a name given to him by BH.........who didnt know where his sire/dam was from. The widow just wanted to get rid of him and the both of them didnt match dogs.

Doubt she would help BH if she knew what he was up to :rolleyes:

The stories get better and better now Bullyson wasn't off Eli n Spook??? Lol when Honey was bred to buckskin dogs she produced likewise when bred to black dogs she produced some black pups..
