My dog is just over a year old. This evening he started throwing up several times in a row, I know he didn't get into anything, he just started throwing up thick yellow liquid. He wont eat anything and he just keeps throwing up. I don't have a vet a can take him to right now but I am taking him first thing the morning. He has all his vaccines and they are current. I was wondering if y'all had ever run into this kind of thing.

Sounds like he may have swallowed a forign object.

If he has not eaten much today, it could just be a build up of bile, which is much like stomach acid. Restict his diet but be sure he has plenty of water to help prevent dehydration, and with repeated vomitting it's best not to wait, so I'm glad he will be seen tomorrow by a vet.

How were his eating habits before all this happened, i.e., yesterday and today? normal routine, good appetite prior to this, or was it diminished/less today?

I agree with Suki on this one. I WOULD take him to a Vet tomorrow.

Well I went ahead and took him to an emergency vet tonight to get him checked out. He doesn't have a temp, and they checked for forgien objects in his stomach and found nothing as of now. He is/was dehyrated, I am going to take him to his normal vet tommorow in the morning though. As far as his eating habits go everything has just been completely normal until around noon today.

Took him into his regular vet today. He seems to be doing much better even before we got there. They ran blood work and found nothing. The vet seems to think it was just a stomach virus or maybe one of his treats (chicken jerky) didn't agree with him. I am glad he is doing better, for awhile there yesterday I thought I was going to have to get him put down. He was so sick I never would have thought it was something so simple. Thanks for your replies.

  9. I am glad that he is okay. My dog has acid reflux and before she would throw up like all the time... Burp a lot and then just burp and food or water would come up... She takes pepcid now and it helps a lot.. We ran out one time and she threw up 9 times that day.

We all know how eating something can upset our stomach (tacos from Taco Bell comes to mind) Glad to hear everything is alright. It is so scary to think about putting a dog down. I have always hoped that me and my dogs all die at the same time, like, 50-60 years from now. Any APBT ever live to be 65 years old? I didn't think so. Glad to hear everything's going good!

There is not a week that goes by that Tinker don't wake me up the sound of throwing up. Somtimes, I'm able to get her off the bed, others, not so lucky. And it's how you explained it, yellow mucuss crap. I think it's just an acid reflux thing, cause she only does it that one time. But damn, gotto wash the sheets again!!!!

  13. That is how my dog was, I have washed my sheets a million times..... My vet is the one who recomended the pepcid.....
