Would you consider the breeders of American Bully's/Gottiline, Razors Edge etc. to be Byb's.

I consider them to be. But thats just me, what do you think?

Personally, I would consider 99% of them BYBs. However, I have seen some (very few actually) that do breed with a certain goal in mind. They title thier dogs and they DO health test. Also, they don't call them APBTs, they call them American Bullies. These few, I wouldn't consider BYBs. I actually have some respect for them:eek:

interesting do any of them have a site?

  4. There is a kennel I believe in California that does Health Test their dogs called Ruckus Kennels and they have RE and other bloodlines. I think if they are breeding to THEIR standard and not calling them APBT then that is fine. Oh I don't want to forget pumping puppies out by the droves either. Now don't get me wrong I think to each their own on the type of dog they want to own so if a person wants a American Bully then they should get what they want but if you want a APBT get the real deal. As long as they call them what they are and not APBT and be responsible then that is fine. I don't agree with all of their methods then again I have three scatterbred game bred dogs all over 50 and 60 lbs worked. But other than that they look just like normal APBT just a little leggier. I'm just glad they quit calling them APBT but still some of them do. But I see more and more switching over to the American Bully name so maybe. Just my thoughts on the opinion.

I agree with Jaded. Those who are legitimately interested in moving in a new direction with their breed, but who hold to some sort of standard of ethics, are probably not BYBs per se. They just aren't breeding my breed anymore. But the few that are doing the right thing are sadly under-represented amid the majority of cash cow breeders that are rampant (admittedly in both breeds) nowadays.

Rarely people call them American Bullies, I walk in the park with my neighbors dog, he is Mayday/Bolio cross, and a person with an AB is like "you wanna breed your dog to mine", and he offers me a pup in exchange. I tell him that he does not have a APBT. And he says that he bought for $2,000!!! and that it is a real Pit Bull. I

I think that yes 99% are BYB's. Most of them take the name Pit Bull as an image for their breed to sell. Because when every wannabe gangster, thug etc. hears the name pit bull, they think of a dog that is viscious and mean and would protect them. Out on the streets you have to have a mean dominating dog. So any dog with the name Pit, will sell for big $$$ out on the streets. So it is very hard for them to change it to American Bully, because then their dogs would not sell. On the streets someone asks you what kind of dog you got and you say, "american bully" they would be like "wat the fuck is that?" But when you say "Pit Bull" they get hyped up with the media etc.

American Bullies is a breed, not a breeding kennel, it's ignorant to assume they are all byb's, and this thread is closed.
