Mr Boudreaux would appreciate a return address because he likes to sends a nice Thank You card when you make a donation to his defence fund. Don't worry about anybody knowing your addy because the PO Box it is sent to was set up by another family member just for that reason.

Cliff - The law can monitor whatever goes through the mail. They can get your address off the envelope before he even gets the card.

And as far as the P.O. Box, all they have to do is ask the postmaster & bam, they've got your name. Then they know the family member who set up the box & all they have to do is follow the trail from there.

Besides, the cops aren't going to be fooled if the box isn't in his name. The address is posted along w/ the title "Boudreaux defense fund" all over the place. Plus, most folks probably address it as "Boudreaux defense fund" right on the envelope.

As for the address, perhaps it would be better to enclose your address on a personal note to him w/ the donation enlosed IN the envelope? I could be wrong but I don't think they aren't supposed to be able to open your mail & I would assume after what Mr. B has gone through he is prudent enough to dispose of addresses & things.

Maybe I am being paranoid, but I have seen how cops work & they can be exceedingly devious.

I believe the "man' can still find out the general vicinity or actual town the letters came from. All letters get scanned during shipment.

Deliver it to him in person.

Yes, you are right. All they have to do is look at the P.O. stamp. But then they have to find the person! There are thousands of folks who use their neighborhood's P.O.s

Of course if we really want to get down to the nitty gritty, all they'd have to do is follow the P.O. stamp to the city of origin & dust the envelope for prints to find out who the exact person is, but I do not think they'll go that far. They got their man when they busted Mr. B.

I do however, think they are watching who contacts him.

You Guys Are Crazy. Someone Was Mailing Real Legit Anthrax A Couple Years Ago And They Never Found Out Who Did It. Do You Really Think The Law Has The Resources To Sit There And Scan Floyd Boudreaux;s Mail? Lol

  9. lol, lol, lol....paranoid? Who you? Yes, you are all being paranoid.

First, only Federal agents have the right to go through Federal offices.

Second, mail can be tracked by to the exact post office it was mail from (zip code on stamp).

Third, unless otherwise permitted by the "Patriot Act", Fed. agents need a Federal court to grant permission to investigate personal mail.

Fourth, a donation does not constitute grounds for investigation.

In addition, there is a specific amount of agents assigned to each case or investigation. These agents have limited resources and time. Usually, this manpower is used to build a case before people are jailed and prosecuted. Mr. B has already been "investigated", jailed, and is being prosecuted.

Also, do you not think there are bigger fish to fry than lil you or me? If there is a taskforce, do you not think they are working on key people rather than everyone?

If you have money to send, do so. If you are concerned, send it with a cousin's or distant relative's address.

Oh absolutely. They'll take down an old man and his dogs but let murderers, rapists, and terrorists run free. They'll take away guns so "no one gets hurt". Like the CRIMINALS are going to give them up because they're illegal now? They'll freak out and start banning pit bulls because a dog, who often isn't even a pit bull, attacks someone but my neighbor's black Lab who has gone through his invisible fencing to attack three people (on separate occations, all needing to go to the hospital) is left alone. His "invisible fencing" considered adequate confinement still. People don't seem to realize the government is run by a bunch of idiots. The higher up the worse it gets. They'll do anything to get votes. The laws have very little to do with protecting the people anymore, only making them think they are safe. There is an entire party of sheeple believing every word of BS spewed and letting themselves become ignorant to the reality of this world. Ignorance is only bliss until you are forced to deal with that which you are ignorant of. It's a popularity contest. The government is bass akwards. I wouldn't doubt for one second that they'd devote the resources they have to spying on a bunch of dog owners instead of murderers and such. It all depends on what looks better in tomorrow's paper. "Dog Fighting Kingpin Busted. Hundreds of vicious pit bulls destroyed." or "Suspect arrested in murder case." JMHO

lol, Rocky don't you think the Federal agencies & the state/cty agencies work hand in hand? How do you think they busted Mr. B in the first place?

Hell, the Dept. of Homeland security was in on Mr. B's bust! What does the DoHS have to do w/ dog fighting, dog dealing or gambling? Nothing. They shouldn't have even been involved. They should have been out there looking for terrorists or something. But instead they were out there helping the state bring down Mr. B!

The fact is if the state agencies want anything from the mail, all they have to do is ask the Feds (if they even have to do that) & they'll get what they need.

As for grounds for an investiagtion, a donation may or may not be grounds for an investigation, but it will put you on their radar & might give them reason to sniff around your place. Then after that, all they need to do walking you dog in a harness or is see an ADBA Gazette on your coffee table & you're toast.

(Yes, the Gazette has now been put on the HSUS's list of what to look for concerning dog fighters!)

And I agree that there is a designated amount of time & man power dedicated to investigations. But there are dog fighting task forces in each state all over the country dedicated only to busting dog fighters both big & small.

As for who they're concerned with, that I cannot say. I'd veture to say that since drugs has become so entrenched w/ the dogs they're interested in everyone to some degree.

And I wouldn't count them looking at the little fish out. How do you think they hook some of the big fish? By hooking little ones first.

In fact, I heard what led up to the investigation of a big name dogman - Tom Garner I think - was a roll over by a small time dogman.

Again, I may just be being paranoid. If I am being paranoid, just ingore me. But I saw how the cops work from the inside & in every case I saw they always kept an eye on folks they had already busted, just to see who their associates were.

I don't think you're being paranoid ABK. We all know "they" are all over the place, watching and listening. But don't you think it is just as bad to be posting here? You might already be on their radar. Everyone here might be. Anyone who subscribes to mailing lists, joins gamedog related sites, or even googles certain key words is probably being tracked. Technology has brought us a way to connect but at the same time it's our worst enemy.

Some people might say, "if you aren't doing anything wrong, then you have nothing to be afraid of," but we all do. They are convicting people on "evidence" that almost all APBT owners have, especially those with kennels. Chains, treadmills, springpoles, flirtpoles, pedigrees, breeding stands, etc. We are all considered "dog fighters" in their book.

The days of big brother staying out of personal affairs is long gone. Might as well figure every phone call, every e-mail, every website viewed, every letter sent, most conversations with a passing friend on the sidewalk-are being monitored. They have the technology, they created and run most of the means of communication, and not that it matters much as they didn't follow the Constitution before either, but the Patriot Act took away all false sense of freedom. Don't say anything, you wouldn't say to the President himself face-to-face.

Big Brother's been "involved" longer than most are aware....

    :(

as far as the post office trace, NBD, simply drive a few cities away and dump it in their box.
